That is how pathetic the entire state is. I was just at a tyre joint cops no longer change their own wheels, pig car showed up on a tow truck one flat tyre they were unable to change the wheel. 2 cops sitting in the tyre joint costing tax payers money.

Bet you it would be because it’s a potential OHS issue. To be fair though most of our reps on the road wouldn’t change their own tyres and it would be changed by someone else on the companies dime.

Victoria shouldn’t have any crappy roads. Whole state is the size of a postage stamp.

If they are training or calibrating, it would be good PR and good sense to have a sign up saying that’s what is going on.

Instead they are doing nothing at all to help their image and sell the story that speed cameras help save lives by getting people to drive while excessively looking at their speedo instead of the road.

It's all OH&S B/S....

Going back a few years ago, I had an argument with some hobknob gov't safety tossbag...

Was talking about truck drivers not having to change their own tyres...It was upto a tyre service fitter.....The hobknob claimed it was due to the weight of the wheel/tyre assembly....

So i then said to him, I need is phone number so he can come out and help me with these changes because I'm the knob that does it on the side of the road by myself.

He soon shut up and racked off...

The 80 kph speed zone on Stud Rd between Heatherton Rd and the freeway will be reduced to 60 . People have been campaining for years to have pedestrian lights or an overpass footbridge near the basketball stadium due to a number of people being hit and kill crossing stud Rd. The latest being a young boy. Any money there will be a speed camera on both sides of the carriageway.

Surely it would be quicker to get roadside assist to do it, unless they had no spare or multiple flats

The old chestnut comments on fixed or mobile speed (safety) cameras are ....... "Don't speed, don't get caught" ........ brilliant advice ! One hand clapping :(

What pisses me off is that the notice turns up in the mail 2 weeks later. During that time you have been unknowingly endangering your life, others lives, producing excess greenhouse gases, damaging your car, and probably contributing to the extinction of the Lesser Hairy-nosed Swamp Galah.

If you are exceeding the posted speed limit, nothing like red and blue lights in the mirror to give you a contrite, Ahh f*** feeling in your wallet.

Exactly. Having to explain yourself to an officer probably has a lot more impact with people than a fine in the mail two weeks later.
