To anyone looking at purchasing, keep an eye out for your rear diff... I had VXR for 3 months and had nothing but issues. and the final straw was the diff covered in oil. Dealer was great to deal with but I had no faith in the vehicle so I returned it. Genuinely disappointed because it was an...
Went to service mine and found this mess at the rear diff. Brought the car 3 months ago the company gave it a new wof for me. Think this has happened in three months?
Thread revival, 80t Kms I'm joining the read diff leaking club... Went to service mine and found this mess. Brought the car 3 months ago and it had a new WOF - reckon it was showing then?
So on talking to another dealer they told me that for the rear diff they use any high quality GL-5 75w90 with LS
And for the PTU they said the same GL-5 75w90 without LS would be fine... However finding one without LS seems difficult.
RDU? What was your car recalled for? I got some part numbers from my local dealer...
93165388 for the diff approx $70 NZD
19419206 for the PTU approx $500 NZD
Yeah... Not sure what the story is with the PTU oil price, I've read a few stories of these both being dramatic on what oil they take -...
I asked my dealer today who told me that they haven't actually done it before for a VXR and couldn't tell me what fluids were being used - they would look into it for me.
I have checked out the Buick forums and there's a mixed bag of answers.
Just wondered if anyone here has done theirs and...
Yeah it seems like the Buick regal lads have access but the issue is maps for Australia/NZ don't seem to be available... Apparently a USB update that is hard coded to a cars vin when accessed so it can't be reused on any other vehicles etc.
I've normally got torque/poweramp running on my headunit but I do like the factory nav for the speed signage on the HUD and dash (not quite speed sign recognition) sadly some roads are reduced speed now so it'll show 100 but it should be 80 etc... Sold my aa wireless and got a carlinkit to run...
Yeah that's pretty much what I'm expecting but perhaps someone has worked out who supplies the OEM maps that can be purchased independently of dealers? Pretty sad that they didn't enable a way for users to update the maps for the last people who actually brought their vehicles.
Yep another GPS thread... Wondered if anyone has managed to update it even have a dealer update their GPS maps?
Yes I know I can use carplay/aa but I like the OEM integration with the HUD and displaying road speed limits on the dash etc.
Red needle VXR 2018 for additional info
Cheers
I would have thought since you reached out to your dealer with proof and made them aware than they should honour it... I would go in and request someone take a look at minimum to get coverage for warranty then book in for proper diagnostics. Take a video and pictures as proof asap incase they...
I use an obdlink mx and have used it for about 5 years and it works great. I brought a carlinkit device that connects to applecarplay and turns your cars display into a fully functioning android tablet.
My car displays torque for all my gauges and has Poweramp playing music in the background...
Haha yeah would be easier to list the features they DON'T have I had sold my RS and had a Ute for a year and missed it all so came back to the dark side, got rid of it and and got a VXR
To answer my own question, I noticed my windscreen had been replaced and guessed the light sensor may have been roughed up. Yup that was the culprit - replaced now my headlights function as expected... Drl during day, auto on headlights at night.
Couldn't find any related fuses but I ended up finding this video here which guides for removing and cleaning the sensor
Disconnected my battery (to reset incase that was any help)
Followed the guide and found something interesting.... My sensor was attached like normal but also siliconed to...
