My 2016 Redline has always had some wind noise from the passenger side. To me it sounded like it was from the door area. However on the weekend I discovered the noise was actually coming from the sunroof. The sunroof glass car be adjusted. While it never leaked water, the passenger side had a...
I'm good, how are you?
I don't have any measurements at the moment, and the vehicle isn't with me at present.
In terms of ride, they are amazing! Very controlled ride without being harsh or having excessive bounce.
Who is installing them for you?
I'm in the process (taking my time) of having...
Both are simply a cross over pipe. The idea is to help speed up exhaust velocity. Location of the X or H pipe is important and will vary depending on engines and mods.
They also have a different sound too. H tend to have more of a beat/pulse, old school. X pipe tend to be smoother and have more...
The bigger headers are getting harder and harder to find. There's plenty of the smaller ones out there though. Higher build number of VE's.
Pacemakers shorties are a good option, they're basically the same. You'll just have to get some of their cats to suit, or have an exhaust shop make some up...
As mentioned above, there is no need for O2 loom extensions.
VF series 1 ran the O2 sensors in the catback. VF series 2 run the O2 sensors right behind the cat. Loom is the exact same, difference is the location. I'm tipping it's been moved to help with emissions. However if you're still...
From memory I paid around the $2k mark for the wheels. As for the fitment of the 10" rear, on a 42 offset it's a bit aggressive, something like a 45 would be a more friendlier option, also allowing you to easily fit a 285 tyre.
I've got a VF2 Redline, and so does mum.
My car cops a hard time, response and exhaust noise has never altered, that said it's had a couple of little changes and is maintained religiously. Throttle/Maf/OTR filter cleaned every 5000kms, oil and filter changed every 5000kms.
Mums car however...
The fix for the brake squeal on the redlines is to add a copper grease. But even then, after a while it can come back.
Half the problem is a build up of brake dust. I was my car weekly. After first being washed the brakes are silent, but towards the end of the week they start to get a little...
I've had multiple door rattles, found the issue to be the striker. I tried adjusting it with no luck. My solution for this was to add a little bit of spring wrap, no more rattles.
Look at older model commodores, the striker had a black plastic on them, current ones are bare metal.
HSV headers a prick to fit... they're the easiest headers to fit!
You don't have to remove the spark plugs, you don't have to disconnect the steering column.
Try fitting some big 1 7/8" 4-1s or Tri Ys, they can be a prick!
I think it's safe to say there will be lots of unhappy "buyers" next year.
My view, if Holden doesn't announce a desirable performance replacement for the SS models soon, those who miss out on cars next year will take their money elsewhere and not look back at Holden.
