You can buy a complete tech2 scantool kit from china for around $280 delivered (see link below). A couple of trips to holden would probably end up costing around the same price as one of these kits. (The local holden dealer here charges around $80 just for basic stuff like turning off an...
After reading what was posted above (about TRX), I thought Id have a quick look at his feedback on ebay, and it doesn't look too bad at all. Theres actually a hell of a lot of people on there who are happy with what they've got from him.. Its not rocket science modifying these tunes, Ive been...
Having an engine run cool is not always a good thing. If it doesn't reach its proper operating temp and runs too cold, then the engine will lose efficiency, which then effects fuel economy and power, and will also considerably shorten the engine life. Engine manufacturers specify a certain...
Air trapped in the cooling system will cause this to happen. Facing the vehicle uphill when filling the cooling system will help get any trapped air to go towards the front of the engine block/cylinder heads and into the radiator where it can then escape, and make sure the interior heater is...
This "how to" mentions how tight the inlet manifold bolts should be tightened up to, but doesnt mention tightening the inlet manifold bolts in the correct tightening sequence. Not following the correct tightening sequence can cause the alloy inlet manifold to warp or cause the inlet manifold...
I don't think it needs a VIN entered, the instructions say-
Tech2 device connected to vehicle, select body control module.
Select diagnostic menu/ vehicle model/body/body control module/security/BCM link to PCM/PIM.
It says it will need TIS securtiy access to be enabled on the tech2 for...
No it shouldn't as long as the loom your going to use came from a VS that had a HI or LUX type BCM originally fitted. I think the LOW type BCM in VS's had different BCM wiring or different plugs or both..
Timed override means you can bypass the engine immobiliser/key reader in an emergency by leaving the ignition key to the ON position for 45 minutes on series 1 VS models and 120 minutes on series 2 VS models. Models like VP and early VR's had a key override switch in the front passenger door...
If fitting a new oil pressure switch fixed it temporarily, then id be inclinded to carefully inspect the plug and wiring that goes to the oil pressure switch for shorting out etc, as moving the wiring/connector about when the new oil pressure switch was fitted may have temporarily broken the...
The SRS module (once it deploys the airbags) sends a signal to the BCM that tells the BCM not to allow the vehicle to start. The SRS modules are once only use and cannot be reset with tech2 etc once airbags have fired.. Not too sure if you would need to reset the BCM after the airbags have been...
It looks to me like the purge canister solenoid plug. If its got a Pink wire and a Green/yellow wire, then that's where it goes. Purge canister solenoid is located behind the drivers side cylinder head. EDIT- Didnt see it was for VR , this info was for VS, sorry. Its probably the MAT (Manifold...
Just fitted a full front end nolathane kit to the front of my VY wagon along with brand new genuine VR struts, strut tops and bearings and springs I had sitting around. Got it back from the wheel aligner yesterday and it rides and drives excellent now..Nolathane bushes are definitely worth...
