Check the rubber tailshaft coupling, to see its not flogged out especially where the bolts go thru and hold it on the flange

I am all for the Glen 20, I always use the original scent, gives the car the New smell, Sodium Hypochlorite is Bleach, I too use that for cleaning mould and **** prior to painting, good stuff in a bathroom etc but NOT in a confined area such as a car

I would be tempted to eliminate idler pulleys, power steer pump, water pump. With the belt off can you grab and move the water pump pulley up and down or when you spin all of the above, do any of them feel rough ?

Try swapping the fan out for another one, sounds like there is a dead short there some where along the line

Are the springs std height or have they been swapped out for lowered and put back in std struts. Just out of curiosity now the strut had punched thru, is the front sitting a lot lower?

Might not be relevent to the problem, but I know Ford sent out a service bulliten relating to warped discs on BA falcons and in was caused by not tightening the wheel nuts in secquence eg; 13524 to pull the wheel on square and also to avoid using a rattle gun to finsh off the tightening process...

I,d say the burning off from inside the headers has poisoned the oxygen sensors
