Well after much time and money spent fixing all the issues and getting the car to pass the roadworthy test yesterday, it was written off this morning. Took a hard hit in the rear which bounced me into another car in front. Car behind hit me so hard it snapped the bolts on the drivers seat and...
Got the right strut top in nice and easy today. Took a whole 30mins instead of the 3-4 hours it took yesterday. Makes me think my front left shockie is worn out as the front right didn't sink at all.
Thanks for the tips on the uni's. Think I'll leave them until the weekend when I have more...
Ended up putting a jack under the trans so I could take the other bolts out and match them up at coventry fasteners. $2 later and all sorted.
If anyone else is interested I used M10 x 25mm hex head and M10 x 15mm Cap Screws.
Hey guys,
Need a bit of advice on a couple of things. First of all what's the easiest way to change a strut top bush? I did the left hand side today and it took hours to get the strut re-attached to the bush. No problems getting it all apart just had heaps of trouble getting the threaded part...
Cheers mate, I became a fan of the clubsport kit pretty quickly. Never really liked the spoiler but after having it on for a few weeks it's grown on me too. I'd love to get my hands on an actual clubsport front bumper though and the driving lights to go with it.
I feel compelled to fix...
Got some more stuff done over the weekend even with the rain.
- Fixed odometer by replacing that little cog
- Fixed window wiper switch so I now have all three settings not just '2'
- New battery + terminals.
- New headlight globes
- New stop light wiring looms
Dropped it off for a roadie this...
New brake booster in, pain in the ass of a job. Relatively straight forward to do just a couple of fiddly nuts behind the dash to make it difficult. Big improvement over the other booster even before it completely died.
Took a chance and went out and got a second hand booster. What a pain in the ass to fit, was all easy until it came to those two nuts behind the dash. Was definitely a dodgy booster though as the new one works perfect, car really pulls up well now.
Thanks mate. Car's a bit rough around the edges at the moment but with some time and care it should come together nicely.
Took the car round to the local Kmart Tyre & Auto and got that last lock nut taken off. Only got a quick glimpse of the socket they used but looked like it had spiralling...
No as I hadn't exposed them. I just undid one of the caliper bolts and loosened the other so that the caliper could be lifted up exposing the pads and keeping everything else in place
Yeah popped the lid off, made sure the rubber thing inside the lid and the lid were back on properly too. Checked it a couple of times now actually, I was really hoping for an easy (cheap) fix haha
