Hi guys my vf2 redline has started making a very subtle ringing or whistling type noise when under light load and it seems as it’s coming from a the wheel area. It has gotten worse last few days and is evident even when not under load ie just rolling. It’s booked into the Holden for 2 weeks time...
That does make sense but somehow I got the opposite effect. My tuner told me that my readings are slightly higher as my wheels were needing to be changed. Which in effect the tyres spin more on the rollers showing a higher kw. I did also think it made higher than expected power.
I ended up sticking with the re050a's as I couldnt go past bridgestones offer. Plus the original front tyres have lasted me 42k ks and the rears still have a good 5-10k ks left in them.
Im keen on the michelin pilot sport 4s for my next set though as everyone on here is rating them quite highly.
Hi guys, time has come for a new set of tyres and since bridgestone have a 4 for 3 deal i was thinking of sticking with the potenzas.
Now as the title states, i can get the re050a which is the oem tyre or the newer s007a for about the same price.
Does anyone have any experience with the...
Yeah sounded like its either too small a job or he doesnt know what hes talking about. His reasoning was somethin along the lines of the main restriction is in the 2.5" exhaust so no point flowing more through the cats when its going to get restricted in the mid section. Didnt sound right to me...
Ok so i dropped by a local (and reputable according to JC) tuner to gain some more info on tuning, prices and questions i had. Now he told me that there is no point on using hi flow cats and that there will be no difference to sound and power compared to the stock hsv 340 cats. His advice goes...
As you said i have been told the fuel smell is non existant as long as the car has been tuned accordingly.
Would you say 100cpi is overkill for a stock (only hsv 340 exhaust and otr) ls3 or go hard or go home and go with 100 cpi. Ive been advised ballistic racing cats 100 but dont want it...
Is it true to say that 100cpi cats will yield twice as much power as 200cpi? What about sound wise? Im about to order a set of hi flow cats but im torn between 100 vs 200 cpi.
I am also in the same situation. I have a set of 340 headers, cats and mid section ready to be fitted. However im comtemplating finding a set of cats first to improve the flow.
Is it really worth upgrading the cats 200cpi as i will also need to have it tuned.
And where can i find decent priced...
Thanks for that info. I might have to measure the outlet when i go to pick it up. Im under the impression the hsv mid section negates the need for weldin o2 bungs? In addition to this does it have any effect on power or noise? If not wouldnt it be cost effective to just get an exhaust shop to...
Hi guys just looking for some advice. Im about to pick up hsv 340 headers and cats in a few days. When i pick them up how do i identify that they are actually the right headers other than just taking the the guys word? Any part number or anything?
Also would i need the centre/mid section to go...
