I had the same problem a few months back. The EST is a basic computer which talks with the dizzy to time your spark plugs. The light, I have been told, is telling u that the dizzy is playing up. This also puts the car into limp home mode, which menas u should notice the car has limited power...

We had the same camber/wear problem too on the VT. We were unaware of the problem until the trye wore so bad that the tyre blew out :( The tyre mob told the Mrs about how its common in VT's and to get the tyres rotated more frequently than normal or buy a camber kit. Being no stranger to wheel...

find an earth that u know works on another item in the car and hook up to there or close to it. If the surface is painted u won't get a good earth, so make sure u earth it somewhere that's not painted or thick metal and a good screw. Hope this helps.
