A friend is following the same logic as you. I'm a little sus on pcv valve. I'll do the basic test tomorrow and maybe remove and clean it. Thanks for the advice.
Yep it's odd. I've had the balancer off looking for anything unusual, either bolts or the CAS shroud. All looks fine. Mate rekons something with the pcv system cause the oil filler cap shouldn't be sucking like a vaccuum. I read a basic pcv valve test today.
So to make matters even more unusual, today I've done 30k in the same car, same engine and it's running perfectl again. No sign of any noises. And take the oil filler cap off and it doesn't change how the engine runs and doesn't act and sound like a vacuum cleaner.

I hope its ok to ask this question in here, but i have a post in the VY section, but the engine covers from VT-VY. If you guys could check the post and offer your opinion id appreciate it. Hopefully i'll pick up more range.
Heres a link...
Hopefully these links work, thanks for the tip. I removed the oil filler cap to see if the squeaks were louder, but the revs dropped and the squeak disapeared (even thou you can hear vacuum) put the cap back on and the sound squeal and squeak start again and now theres a light tap tap tap after...
The links don't work from my phone but work from my computer. The website wouldn't allow direct upload of .mov
How do I get around this?
Starter only a couple of months old and that would explain the start up noise but not the constant squeak. Only squeaks at idle and power feeks the same.
Hi guys, great forum.
I have a 200,000k VY V6 Ecotec runs sweet until today.
Check the videos for squeak/squeal. What ive done so far is remove the drive belt and the sound is still present. Ive removed the crank pulley and carefully checked the rubber, machined surfaces and where it mounts on...
