I think most of the work went to Trident - whose website is still active (https://www.tridentaustralia.com/) There is a news corp article around them being in administration 9 months ago, but they seem to be still trading?
AFAIR the bumper tools were sold/given to other injection moulding companies so they could be produced on an ongoing basis. I can't understand why they wouldn't still be available...
As I said earlier 0 why are you using 8 hours a day for your example? 8 hours at 32A is enough to FULLY charge a Model 3 or Y RWD, enough for ~450+km.
Screenshot below is for part of today showing grid prices with Amber.
Why would I bother physically testing it? I can see household consumption via my powerwall. With isolation switch off, the charger draws 0A - it is OFF. When the charger is charging, it draws 32A or ~7kW (depending on the grid voltage at the time). I don't need to charge 8 hours per day...
How much current do you think a 32A charger would draw whilst it's charging? Hint: it's 32A
It draws 0 when were not charging as it's turned off at an isolation switch.
My monthly power bill is around $60 including charging 2 EVs and having reverse cycle air con.
Stop watching sky news and...
No change at this point. Without going to the cars to check, last time I looked, the Model 3 was sitting at around 130 Wh/km and the Model Y around 140 Wh/km. The biggest impact to this is the speed you're driving - at 100km/h the consumption will be higher than at 60km/h (for example).
Hey All,
Nothing too much to share - both cars still going well.
Model 3 now at 8482km. Lifetime charging cost now: $216.61. Equivalent cost in the ZB @ 12L/100km and $2/L = $2035 - so $1819 in fuel savings in ~9 months.
Model Y now at 4295km. Lifetime charging cost now: $11.94. Equivalent...
Thanks for letting me create this thread. I'll look at posting an update on costs/experience in early Feb which will be ~9 months with the Model 3; and ~6 months with the Model Y..
That's not quite why Victoria lost the case. The issue is that it was deemed to be an excise, which can only be levied by the Commonwealth (see https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-10-19/owners-taxed-electric-vehicle-levy-730/102994460). It is inevitable that in the future, a FEDERAL road user tax...
