Yeah its like a tin metal, however the undiluted HCL didnt even react with it when I submerged a part into it.

Does anybody know what kind of coating is on the silver/chrome interior pieces? It seems like a metal coating rather than a painted one, from the bits I have peeled off. (see last 2 pics of the same piece. The back is black/carbon in color) Searched Yt and think I have tried most suggestions...

Anyone know how to disengage the wire plug that attaches to the little dome in the centre if this trim?

Looking to disassemble to get to the silver plastic front trim for painting.

Update: Couldnt find any info (pics,vids etc) to disassemble the back cable, usb cabling in the centre armrest compartment etc so I just removed both seats and sprayed the parts I was wanting to paint within the car.

Anyone know how to pull the switch from the back plastic unit? Just dont want to go the brute force option for obvious reasons When you look at the back picture, that whole vertical plastic bit rotates when you rotate the front dial (for reference) I cant see any sort of clip. Thanks

Has anyone removed this piece ??? I have followed the repair manual and vid above, however, it still will not release. I've got it to the point of it being loose and can move it a few inches back, however, I'm guessing the handbrake is still attached. Any pointers on how to free the handbrake...

found a vid on a G8 where they took the whole back assembly out, hope I can remove just the trim rather than doing all that.:rolleyes:

Any instructions on how to get the rear of the centre console out of a SSV Ute? Not the shiny black surround around the window buttons and transmission, nor the front trims associated with the head unit area.

VE Series 2. Any links / vids to remove the upper trims? Assume the centre trim has been removed as in swapping out the IQ unit. I need help with removing the panels up to the windscreen on both the left and right side of that centre panel. Thanks

Has anyone got one of these Version 5 units and can confirm that the AM radio works? FM is clear and autoscans channels fine, however AM cannot. Thanks
