Hey, Holden guys n gals I'm looking at buying a 2nd hand T56 gbox ,the person says it's out of a V6 VX ( I have a VU 5.7 ) but he and I dunno how to confirm if its a T56 he definitely says it's a 6 speed.so my question, is there any ID markings on the gbox that'll let me know before I part with...
... I was quoted 4 - $600 from my local dealer to change my oil pressure switch , re set my pcm ( it deletes all warnings that have been showing up. ) as well as putting out the engine light. Oh and labour charges. I think for a reset only cost was another $170.
Yup... my check engine light come up ( 5.7 Gen III LS1 ) probably 2 - 3 weeks was thinking O2 sensor / sensors. Then my oil light would alarm so I'm thinking oil pressure switch as well. Long story short paid Holden $170 to run diagnostic only fault that showed up was my oil pressure switch...
I changed my own gearbox oil the other day the T56 has a separate filling hole for reverse gear. where the wire for the reverse light is, acts as the filling plug as well, careful how you take it off. takes approx..500mls..smooth as gear change..hope it helps
Hi, Hava a 2002 SS Manual Holden Commodore. Broke down the other day, Car was idling fine, but unable to get it into gear. when turned off it runs thru the gears fine. Looking to drop the gear box oil and hope this is the easy fix. any ideas?
