Its an sv5000 cam got a bum steer from a supposed expert and was told it will run fine with stock memcal. As for calling me an idiot im no expert hence asking for advice.
And the expert was someone who i had been told was very good with efi holdens.

An update to my issue.
On top of the time my issue, since the weather in Melbourne has cooled off I'm finding it hard to start in the mornings. It cranks and takes longer to fire, and once running it idles very low and stutters and light throttle application while cold.

Attempted setting the base timing yesterday, put the car in diagnostic mode, then hooked up the timing light.
The issue i have is the timing mark was bouncing around a good 2 degrees each way from 10 degree mark that i was trying to line up.
What could be causing this and would it...

Ive done a few searches but didn't have much joy. I'm looking at upgrading the head unit in my vs statesman but want to retain the factory steering wheel controls.
Are there any off the shelf options available, I had heard stinger and aerpro used to but are no longer available...
Looking to buy myself an Adventra and wondering what the best way to lower one is. I want to know if it's worth removing the rear subframe raising blocks or not, and also, what struts are available aftermarket, as I understand they are different to non AWD Commodores.
As the title suggest i want to know if an Ecotec out of a later model car will drop in with little or no modifications. The reason i ask is that my engine is on the way out and i have been able to source an engine from a VX with very similar Kms to mine.

Just a quick one regarding the VP front end. Does fitting the VP front move the front track outwards, as i believe VPs have a wider front track than VB - VN.

Ive got a bit of a problem that i cant get my head around.
Cold starting in the moring, if the car is parked on a downward slope, it is very hard to start, and when it does finally fire it runs very roughly for a moment before settling into idle.
Put the car into D and the whole car starts...
