id have to take a look at the binary file of 1 to be 100% certain, but i'd imagine they would be the same if it's the same series/model.
Technically the modules transmit on multiple can ID's, but the 1's i mentioned before are specifically used for the "state of health monitoring".
On the...
Don't think thats something that Jason's program can do. That'll be the ECU tune & TAC calibration. I know Justin @ Ultimate Wiring Harnesses has made something up for the vz ls1 pedals.
your abs issue with would also stem from the broadcast address used, looks like in the e40 it's listening on CAN ID 2F9, but the E38 is 2F0. It changes again for the VE & later models. Now while you can probably satisfy the ecu to listen for the ABS data. I'm not sure if the ABS module would be...
I think i know why the oil temp doesnt work. there is more then 1 switch/parameter.
There is the 1 that hpt/efilive show that gives u the option for calculated, or sensor based, but there is another that switches between gearbox & engine oil temp, then there is another table for the sensor...
i thought about the ebcm issue a bit more, highly likely the dash has no care in the world since it's only on the UART data network. So will just be the pim being setup as having the 5l40. With any luck there is similar adjustment options in the ebcm programming to make it happy again.
I do know...
technically at the moment, on the conversion dummy. it has the trac off displayed on the dash because it's registering a configuration mismatch error in the ebcm. I suspect because the dash & pim has been changed to tell it has a 5l40e that is causing it.
I ran out of time to test if changing...
wasn't sure if it was an off the shelf adapter. I reckon it's probably more worth while to do a newer one for a 6l80 especially for anyone that has a modified v6. I look at it that if you are going to spend the money going down this route might as well start with the a box that's already rated...
Hey mate, do you have a design of the adapter plate your willing to share or have somewhere to purchase from, had some1 ask about doing it for their turbo v6.
Didn't have to do anything to the dash it just worked straight out. I'm guessing the code is already there for the gears.
I suspect they were doing powertrain testing of the VE stuff in the VY/VZ chassis so would make more sense as to why it just works.
I've also managed to get a newer 2011...
To add the reverse relay to the VZ SS is not hard, they already have the 12v ign power & 12v out to lights coming from the white plug in passenger kick panel, so it's just a matter of running the reverse trigger gnd from the pim to that area, which for me is the same area for the tapshift.
yep. paddles are wired direct to the box tcm.
Just need to have the correct settings in the tcm tune. I already do that for my own cars/customers in conversions. It's called hardwiring & was used on the corvette platforms too.
vz hsv is an ls2 running an e40 ecu. that harness is for standalone e38. will be waste of money. Neither the 5.7 or 6lt engine harness is anywhere close to a compatible replacement.
Either get a manual harness (if u can find 1) or pull the original harness off & get it modified to run as a...
I've replaced the 4l65e/t42 controller with a 6l80e, i did a quick/nasty wire in job for the 6l by tapping into the relevant pins in the old t42 controller plug, 1 wire direct to the ecu for the neutral safety.
Bunch of changes in ECM/TCM.
Dash is happy, trans shifts through the gears.
I'll...
