    2017 SV6

(Belated response) Not a bad strategy, @panhead! I used to have a vehicle packaged with my salary, but given the kilometres I did, ended up turning them over every 6-8 months. Became easier to get the replacement/new vehicle in the same colour as the old one to save the inevitable 20 questions...

    2017 SV6

Thanks panhead - I'm really happy with it. I was going to go with the Nitrate (silver), which was what I had the VE in, but I reckon the Son of a Gun grey goes much better with the black accent wheels that come on the Series 2 version of the SV6.

    2017 SV6

Hi all, Picked up my new toy, I mean, tool, last Wednesday and took it out Saturday for a few happy snaps (and to, cough, run it through the rev range in the hills outside of Canberra). This is the Son of a Gun grey, although the light on Saturday arvo makes it look like a deep green/black...

    New arrival - diddled?

I ordered mine mid-August, picked mine up on Wednesday (SV6) - was happy to get one before the factory closes in October. Build date is March 2017 - the thing had 20km on it - I'm not at all worried. As others have said, just enjoy - I am!

Found in engine bay - any idea what or where from?!

Yep - that's exactly it. See same pic from my VE...sans the cover (and most of the dust!) seen in UFO's. Boy, talk about an amazingly helpful forum. Thanks to you both - hope you have a great weekend!

Found in engine bay - any idea what or where from?!

Cheers UFO - appreciate the super quick response. I couldn't see a logical fit for it anywhere...and if it was kicked up from the road, I'm amazed at how it managed to end up where it was. That said, anything and everything is possible, and the car has has done about 10,000km of highway driving...

Found in engine bay - any idea what or where from?!

Yep - it got the 15,000km service done in mid-February...

Found in engine bay - any idea what or where from?!

Hi all, Was cleaning my 2010 VE Omega, and found the 'thing' pictured below sitting at the bottom of the engine bay. It was on the left-hand (passenger) side of the car, up the front of the engine bay, and wasn't attached to anything. About 360mm long by 45mm high. The top is rigid...

    Thoughts on VE purchase?

Thanks Sean, appreciate the response. I suspect more of my worry comes not from the price of the car, but the cost of transferring/registering it in ACT. Off-topic - and something I'm sure has been covered elsewhere - but it's gunna cost me the best part of $1700 to get the thing registered in...

    Thoughts on VE purchase?

Thanks Sabbath and Marco - appreciate the quick response. The biggest challenge for me in buying a ute was trying to find one that hadn't been used for trade/commercial, modified or likely to be driven hard! This one seemed to tick all three boxes, and it was only the other day I was saying...

    Thoughts on VE purchase?

Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster - so a belated thanks for all the info I've gleaned from these forums over the years. I've just put a deposit down on a used MY10 stock standard, bare bones Omega Ute. So stock standard it only has 3100km on it - yes, that's thirty-one hundred...
