Would I need to feel for the magnet or should I be able to see it from inside the camshaft sensor hole? The magnet in that photo is spaced away from the rest of the holes

It sounds like it's coming from the right hand side of the engine, I stuck my ear on both sides and it seems more evident from the right hand side.

The last few changes have been 10w30, the most recent one was 15w40, hasn't made a difference.
