How much would you expect from dealers etc? VF SSV Redline

Congrats mate! It would have been a crime to have to part with it for less than $30k in all fairness.

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

….but think of the light bars you could add! https://preview.redd.it/the-light-bars-are-so-bright-you-can-see-this-thing-from-v0-cv6cd75bks4a1.png?width=1080&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=b1d1516627d01501a5c9a353dc490d3cfb4310b2

    VF SS wheels

Not sure if I’m on the same wavelength Forg?…but your description in your first para sounds more like the variation in the 18” SV6 rims?? The black accent arrived with the 2016 black edition and then became standard thereafter on the SV6. The rims in the OP’s pic are the 19” that became...

    My HSV Clubsport

For a breakdown if you’re not a member & ring the RACQ then they normally get you to sign up for 12mths and then send out a vehicle to help…I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s similar for towing as they seem to value their reputation for assistance.

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

The front looks like a deliberate ‘up yours’ to the EV brigade.

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Yes, I’ve brought 4m lengths of conduit home from Bunnings in the wagon…just not possible in my SV6 ute (granted, the ute has a hard lid which limits both height and length when compared to the wagon). sorry OP for derailing your thread…

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Well yes I’d believe the crew cab ute comparo after seeing what my wife can fit in her handbag…the mind boggles.

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Yes at $140k certainly not an option for me and so irreplaceable in my world...and that has to be one of the most truncated ‘wagons’ I’ve seen. I‘d challenge it to carry the load I’ve jammed into the SS, which is just another reason why the SS is irreplaceable.

    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

June’17 build SS wagon. 32k kms highway/country driving only. Couldn‘t contemplate selling it…irreplaceable on today’s new car market.

Value and selling of a VF 2014 Redline with W kit

My son was updating his 2019 Mini through BMW/Mini in Brisbane just before the middle of last year. That’s where he bought it new, had it serviced etc. It only had 25k on it, always garaged, peak condition inside and out. Mini offered him $15k for a trade whereas it was probably worth low $20k...

    Approximate value

We have a MY14 VF CalaisV (V6) handed down from my parents who bought it new in Dec 2013. It has just ticked over the 70k. insurance company automatically put $24830 on it when I took it over 12 months ago today. This year‘s renewal just paid was for a value of $24300…so no arguments from me.

VF Series 2 V8 Fuel Consumption

No, not for over 10 years. The Bligh ALP govt scrapped it years ago....understandably there was uproar when this was first proposed. Bligh said trust us (haha) and promised that they wouldn’t sit back and watch Qld get ripped off due to large state/remote areas and we wouldn’t return to the...

    Weird insurance business

Well it will cost them to tell you how to vote in the referendum…but don’t expect your rates to go down again next year.

    Bumper protectors

Pazzu, you no doubt noticed that with the trunk mat pics on the OPG link you’ve provided, that only one of the pics shows the mat in the back of a vehicle but it’s a wagon not a sedan even though the ad is for a sedan mat? Due to the wagon not having a lip, along with the regular shape of the...

    VF Evoke Paddle Shifters?

I optioned my VF2 SV6 ute with the flat bottom steering wheel and it incorporates paddle shifters…but yeah not standard as far as I know on 6 cylinder or SS for that matter (had to option same for it). Not sure if it’s been done with Evoke though.

Cylinder failure (lost compression) no warranty VF SSV Redline

My first and last experience was with Midas some 30-35yrs ago. It was a late Friday afternoon and there was two of their guys sitting having a chat when I asked about pricing on a couple of new tyres. After a quick look one of them tells me I need 4 tyres at some ridiculous price (which I can’t...

    interior commodore series 2 sv6 2017

Yes, also standard in 2016 black ed.
  25. H

    interior commodore series 2 sv6 2017

Sounds like standard fare from your description. The standard 2017 SV6 is basically the 2016 VF2 SV6 black edition…including rims but without the black edition badging of course.

    Reversing lines on camera

In which case for option 2 we should add ‘now see option 1‘. Even if buried in the menu what happened to good old fashioned service where a dealer (which I assume sold Holdens until 5 years ago) would go to the trouble to do something what should be simple to them other than putting their hand...

    VF Hard Top/Lid

A further thing I have been impressed with when it comes to the original hardlids, as fitted pre-delivery, is how water tight they are. The fine print stipulated that they are not expected to be so, and no doubt after many years the seals will deteriorate but at 6yo our vf tray still stays dry...

    VF Hard Top/Lid

We had a VE2 with three piece twin hump hardlid. We absolutely loved the poison ivy colour and everything else about it but quickly found ourselves fitting the small, round blind spot mirrors to both external mirrors. The night I drove it home from the Dealers I found left shoulder checks on the...

Yeah probably….along with the Mutant Mustang that we never got to see in our showrooms either.

Remote way to open the sportwagon hatch

I’m happy for people to think I’m being good mannered but in reality I’m not willing to risk someone scratching the top of the bumper/hatch ingress nor do I want them slamming the hatch shut

Will a VfSS Steering wheel fit a Vf SV6

I optioned the flat bottom/paddle shift wheel on both our vf2 sv6 ute & vf2 ss wagon ie not standard on either but a welcome addition to both.

    Wish I'd stayed in Aus...

I recall for a couple of years at least before its eventuation there was this hype about the coming Masters warehouses. Multiple news stories and lots of questions as to why it was taking so long considering Bunnings continued to be a run away success. The answer was always that we’re taking...

    Tailgate Not Locking

Re remote start…what I was trying to say is that if the tailgate (or any door) had a fault that stopped it from locking when the locked button on the fob was pressed then the remote start would not work?
  34. H

    Tailgate Not Locking

This is my thinking also. I don’t think I’ve ever tested it the way Forg has described…just always assumed it has locked with the doors…must give it a go tomorrow. Edit: Furthermore should not remote start fail to work if the tailgate was detected as unlocked? I know remote start works on...

    Supercheap Holden car cover

Yes, if it has a microfibre lining it should be ok...again, I’m not expecting it to be totally dustproof but could be useful for use in the shed. Probably worth me checking out first hand. Cheers!
  38. H

    Supercheap Holden car cover

True...I wouldn’t think of covering a wet vehicle with it...with our humidity it would be a sure way of quickly ruining/stenching the inner surface of the cover also I would imagine.
  39. H

    Supercheap Holden car cover

Cheers for the replies so far peoples. Yes, I am only thinking of indoor use....until 2yrs ago my cars were always garaged in a sealed (gyprock lined) urban garage. Now they are garaged in Titan type sheds where more dust, insects/geckos etc are more prevalent. Each of the Commodores may sit...
