Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I agree that it takes longer to fill the phone options menu now. With the text messages I assume you mean it comes and goes via the iPhone updates?

Strange problem - MyLink is no longer receiving text messages from my iPhone 12 mini. It was working fine until about a month or so ago. It still works for phone calls, playing music and even the phone voice commands. But the txt message feature has gone. I am assuming it coincided with an...

@RevNev My Dads VH is sitting in my garage awaiting a freshen up. His name was Nev. When my son was a youngster he christened the VH “the Nevrolet”.

    MyLink/Maps Update MY16 to MY17

My service dealer also sells and services the GMSV range - wouldn’t those maps be available/compatible with my VFII SV6 ? Probably ‘too hard’. TBH they don’t seem motivated to do even a half arsed job for Holdens anymore.

VF wagon, would you buy one?

The last batch/s of SV6 had the HUD. I love mine but it took a little while to get used to. About 10 mins.

    77 HX Premier

Coincidentally I saw a HJ Statesman today. Antelope, 308 but with a bench seat and column auto. My dream combination! I had a nice chat with the owners for 5 or so minutes. (Photos too large to upload)

    77 HX Premier

Yep, the top level of the standard size Holdens. Calais/V was the equivalent in Commodores. In both cases Statesman DeVille & Caprice were the larger luxury/prestige Holdens (or ‘by GMH’)

    77 HX Premier

I had a HJ Premier 202 Tbar in Antelope. Beaut colour, beaut car. Very comfy seats, it seemed that the Prem had bigger buckets that the Kingy - I know that’s not likely true but that was the impression. Had compliments from passengers on the comfort of the car when giving lifts.

VF wagon, would you buy one?

To the OP, I bought my ‘17 VFII SV6 Sportswagon new in 2018 in Son of a Gun Grey and it has been trouble free so far. I’m at 93k now with the Covid years reducing my annual kms. At this time I think I’ll just keep it. I would say that it has been quite handy, and there is plenty of room. I’ve...

VF boot sedan meant to fully spring open?

My 15 VF Calais sedan with a lip spoiler opened just enough to be convenient and easy to lift from there. I don’t remember it ever opening fully, if it did it was rare.

Just that I see plenty on other cars from my wife’s Astra and various Foresters and Outback’s. Think they look pretty good. I still spend plenty of time waiting around to pick up my kids from various places and it would be nice to have rather than essential to be able to open the windows a crack...

    VF Random chat thread

Now for the next random question. (This seems to be my default setting these days). Anyone got a Sportswagon with all 4 slimline window windows deflectors on it? How does it look? I’m think of getting them on but I think I’ve only seen one wagon with them and it went past too quickly to get a...

    90,000Kms/54 Month service

I’m actually on 76k rather than the 62k I claimed v the other day. Brain fart. Q: I’ve noticed the gas struts on the lift back are sluggish and don’t raise the door as much as they used to. I realised when I bumped my head into the door. Ouch. So mention it at the next service? Or just find...

    90,000Kms/54 Month service

Yes but pay interest but you do on a loan as well, and the novated lease saves a little tax. It’s nice having everything prepaid though. Edit to make clearer

    90,000Kms/54 Month service

One of the reasons I like having a leased car is that the dealers call them for “do you want an injector clean” and such questions and not me.

Great game. I thought NSW was the better in the first half yet they were behind at halftime. That happens sometimes. Qld deserved the victory in the end. Go the Blues

Ok, made up a template from cardboard (from inside a coke box ). They look just about a perfect fit. Perfect on the back, only question mark is on the front as the Bicentennial is approx 18-20mm deeper than the current plates (old fashioned 5 digit black plates that I want back in the VH when...

Also, these are the floor mats the dealer put in my SV6 Ta. Closest of current plates are the US style at 305 x 155. I’ll mock up the size and see how i like them.

Thanks. I assumed the same measurements as the current international plates and guessed they’ll be ok. Good idea to cut paper to that size though, I’ll try that. edit: actually if you could give me the actual dimensions that’d help

    VF Random chat thread

I guess this is a random question. I have some NSW Bicentennial number plates (1788-1988) in storage. I am considering putting them on my VFII SV6 Sportswagon when (if) I buy the car after the lease finishes (May23). Has anyone seen or have a photo of these squarish plates on a Sportswagon? I...

    Chapman Lock

Yep, just like that. I guess it works because over the years there have been a few unsuccessful attempts to steal it. Busted door key holes, busted steering column shroud etc but the car stayed put.

    Chapman Lock

When my Dad bought his VH at Ron Hodgson’s they sold him a few options including a Chapman Lock for the bonnet. Now I’ve never met anyone else that has ever heard of these things so maybe Dad was the only one to buy one. It was a kill switch connected to a “strong” metal bar that kept the...

Quick Questions: 2011 Holden Captiva... wanting to buy tomorrow... any advice?

Interested in this if it isn’t too far OT. Were there any improvements that came along with the ugly nose on the last model ? Did all models (1.8 Diesel 1.4 1.6 ) have the auto issues. Are the manuals ok ?

Quick Questions: 2011 Holden Captiva... wanting to buy tomorrow... any advice?

I had 2. 06 LX V6 & 09 LX V6. Both for approx 100k kms. Only issues were both had a battery fail in the first 20-30k kms, and had to replace tyres. That’s it, otherwise faultless.

    Novated leasing vf ssv redline

I’m currently on my first lease which I took for 5 years as I was hoping that would take me to retirement and I wouldn’t have to frig around with doing another. Of course with Covid it seems like I will have to work another couple of years. I have an ‘in general’ question. Is there a rule of...

    VF SV6 purchasing questions?

My 2017 VF2 SV6 Sportwagon has heads up but I am unsure if that came in VF2 or just for 2017. On the commute ( I think I can remember them) I would fill up in the high 500s-600km mark on 98. Generally 60-63 litres. On a trip it is around 800kms when I refill. I don’t go down to the vapours...

    Vf sv6 tyres

I ran mine against a speed radar in Victoria a couple of years ago and came up with 4km/h difference consistently. 96 at indicated 100. I just set my cruise a bit higher to compensate :)

    VH Vacationer ID

thank you. I assumed that Holden May have run these Vacationers off as a last batch of VH’s to hold them until the VK came on stream in numbers. The lateness being why they expected it would be a VK??? Yes, built Nov83 as a model year 84. Pacific Blue with light blue cord seats.
