I did think about that after I posted - it hasn't had the chains replaced as far as I'm aware - guess I'll do this valve fix and see how it goes. Will report back here when done with some findings

I’ve just read your post from a few years ago - will definitely be giving it a go! Can you just buy a new one and drill the holes in it? Just to save cleaning the old one?

Yeah 5W-30 seems to be too thin for the Holden V6 engines, 10W-40 would appear to possibly be the sweet spot

I did see a thread on here somewhere that suggested moving up a grade to a thicker oil like 10W-40 so I might give that a crack at the next service in a months time

Hi all, Heading is the summary of this post - I had a check oil warning on the dash on my VE Omega the other day, thought it was the oil pressure sensor but turns out my car is burning or losing oil. There is no visible leak underneath the car, the oil filter, or engine block. I topped it up...

The problem was fixed because I found too many threads with the same issue - and as it turns out, I only needed to top up the oil in my car.

EDIT - ISSUE FIXED.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but my wagon is doing the same thing and I suspect it's coming from these rubber sleeves, any ideas on where I can get new ones? Or at least what they're called? Cheers

Hi _R_J_K_, Yeah I'm aware of the sports armour protectors but these look like additional attachments to the bumpers. I've ascertained that they aren't HSV parts. The looking continues! Cheers
