the can is too large and it hits the curved metal bit above the wheel if mounted on the right bolt, so its mounted onto the left bolt which leaves enuf gap between can and anything else. On the side, may i ask whether your can has a filter?? mine does not! meaning that literally the bad air...

Oil Catch Can VF - SV6

do you guys have photos of the routing of the pipes for your catch cans? interesting to see how it works compared to mine. Cheers

    Alloytec pcv

Well. I just opened the catchcan pipes and discovered that the pipe leading to the catchcan from the driver side, has white goo inside it, and the worst part is the pipe leading from catch can to the passenger side of car ALSO has white goo iniside the pipe.

OK so I think I’ve understood the concepts well. Essentially, blow by from engine on the driver side is taken into plenum, which is bad. So a catch can will clean that air before letting it into plenum. The passenger side of engine pulls air from air intake BUT that’s not necessarily dirty. Soo...

Sure, looks like the bad stuff comes from the left side of engine and goes into the middle hole, What comes from the right side of the engine and goes to the air intake ?

    Alloytec pcv

Sorry mate, I think that’s wrong. The pipe where you’ve written dust and dirt into engine is actually just a pipe that releases vapour and water…

Could you pls see my last post for better quality if needed. Can you elaborate why it’s bad, I assume so too but am not sure and very difficult to get info on the car. Regards

Hope this is good photo as website won’t let me upload file due to size. Notice a couple things. Little hole (name?) on top of intake normally led to something, now blocked off. pipe on top of catchcan, leads to open atmosphere. Right pipe leads to left side of engine, left pipe leads to right...

So, is It bad for the car that the little tab in the middle has been blocked off ?

    Alloytec pcv

Here is what the catch looks like. I’m not sure how to fix this and the mechanic took $250 for it !! The red shows the PCV blocked off, and the green shows the pipe leading to atmosphere. I was told that this is supposed to make hot air from going back into the engine. However idk why the PCV is...

Tinking sound from below when car comes to low speed

Hi. I’ve got my VF LFX car cammed recently and since then, there has been this Tinking noise that happens when the car is coming to a stop and it happens as the car jerks (Cams need high stall torque converter or smthn like that to stop the jerking). It only happens when I release foot off...

    Alloytec pcv

On my LFX VF My Catch can basically has 2 pipes that go into it and then one pipe goes to atmosphere. The little hole above the manifold (I think pcv valve) has been blocked off, so nothing goes in there. What diagram is this and why has this been done so? I’ve seen catchcans but the PCV valve...

    Flooring the bad boy

That is true. I noticed LLT and older engines made less than LFX with the same mods (excluding exhaust manifolds)… tho they sound really nicer than LFX

    Flooring the bad boy

Cheers for affirmation. Very hard to get hands on solid information. During period of cam installation, literally every mechanic ended up telling me something different than previous mechanic on enquires. Not sure who to head to at this point.
  17. A

    Flooring the bad boy

Yeah yeah yeah, mine too. 1st gear manual missing the bite point jerkiness. Apparently CAMS damage the engine on LFX ?
  18. A

    Flooring the bad boy

Can u describe that jerkiness? Basically for me rn, when I come down to 10km/hr or so, the vehicle starts jerking, dunno best way to describe but it keeps jumping back and forth. (Like a Holden Captiva with bad spark plugs if u ever had those. My Sv6 plugs are good tho)

Nope. Guy said that throttle controller runs Worse on Cams… so I didn’t get those. wana try it tbh

Is it bad for fuel pressure to get low on a CAMMED sv6

So does adding a Cam change any of the responses given in this thread? ie. Due to Cams, fuel must be kept at higher level than a standard VF/VE
  21. A

    Flooring the bad boy

Yeah mate, I hear this Tinking sound during decel at low speeds, when it jerks abit but dunno what that is atm tbh.

    Flooring the bad boy

Look mate. There’s definitely power in cams but from my short experience, it’s Garbo and not worth it for daily driving. BUT that’s without a high stall torque converter, so we will have to see once I get that too if drivings abit better. Atm it has too much jerk, and was even worse before my...

    Flooring the bad boy

Uhhh, for me I had exhausts already, essentially, for a tune, chains, oil pump, oil changes, installation of OTR and cams, Drift catchcan and fuel = $2800.. he didn’t provide Cams and OTR. Wasn’t quite happy with the tune tbh, but need some reference to other cars with Cams to fully know if I...

    Flooring the bad boy

Back to the thread. You all believe it’s okay to floor a car in general or is it bad. Talking about let’s say traffic light races etc.

Look man, the tuner really didn’t give me much at all! Just a photo of the power, not even torque.

Is it bad for fuel pressure to get low on a CAMMED sv6

Hi guys and girls. I have a cammed sv6, and I was told not to let fuel get below 1/4 in the tank due to low fuel pressure otherwise “[my] engine will blow”. Now my question is, is this true for all driving conditions or just racing conditions?

    Flooring the bad boy

These are 210/210 Mace Cams for the LFX, dunno if they’re roller or Tippet cams ahaha. Right, and u mentioned redline, would the tuner have changed that redline limiter due to the new cams? (Redline brought lower due to cams having lower limit?) Cheers

    Flooring the bad boy

Hey Guys, I’ve recently gotten my 2012 Sv6 VE LFX Cammed (No V8 comments thanks), and have been careful not to floor the car til the cams have broken in. My question is, Is it okay to floor the car, let’s say 0-100km/hr on sports mode, and how often can I do this. Just in general is flooring...

Noise from dipstick side of engine after rev

Cheers for reply. I tried deleting thread but I can not find the button to. Ran engine without belt, and noise was not present. The noise is most likely from the hydraulic pulley, aka steering pump but I’m not sure how to approach the fix. Can I replace the pulley itself but unbolting it and...

Xforce catback muffler swap with J pipe.

Hi. Just got xforce 2.5 inch catback, didn’t like the sound and decided to change the mufflers to a J pipe which sounded excellent but only one problem. the J pipes tips don’t come out from the right spot under bumper… it actually points into the ground and I reckon this is Becos it’s been...

    Noise after oil change

Alright Lads. Cheers for the very insightful information that all of you gave. Noted all of it. I hope that, as some mentioned, it’s not a big issue since the “TRR” is not happening again after removal of some oil. Enjoy and be safe :)

Buying 2.5Inch Catback for stock Sv6 VE

Hi guys. Just gonna buy an xforce 2.5Inch catback for my 2012 VE and wondering if it’s a straight bolt on process OR do the flange need modding to match the stock cat flange. cheers

    Noise after oil change

Hey lads. Recently done an oil change on my 2014 VF 3.6L LFX. Fellas at supercheap told me 7L is what my engine requires, and so after changing the filter and filling new oil. I turn on engine and hear a TRRR’ish sound from engine. This happened again on a cold start the next day and so I...

    Different engine from stock

Alright. Cheers guys. So changing the oil, coolant, transmission, steering fluid etc. is still the same as the original engine and the engine swap has no effect on those? Also are the fluids still the same as the one in the VE maintenance book?? cheers

    Different engine from stock

Hey Lads. Just gotta engine on a 2012 Sv6 ve that ISNT the original engine and they briefly told me it was VF (hoping you guys help confirm this).
