Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

Could possibly that according to the members ride that he/she has a WN II which has HID headlights from the factory.... a far better setup then the halogens in the VF. Or that one hasn't experienced a car with better lights and visibility. I daily an R36 B6 Passat and often times find it so much...

Installed LED lights, now throwing codes

I'm running HIDs on the low beams and a nighteye cob for the Highbeams and are quite happy with the results. The HIDs go really well in the projector housings. Nice clean cutoffs. I just wish they still make the 4300k version. Really glad i didn't go through the Narva route after seeing sub...

VF and CTS-V 4 pot Amazon caliper mount hole size

A work around is to get 12mm bolts and mount them with a shaft bushing to locate them properly. I haven't measured the thickness of the knuckle but say its 20mm thick, would get a shaft bushing of 12mm ID 14MM OD and 20mm height, something like this

SSV Series II vs Redline Series I

You know what, this makes so much sense, the leather seems to look better new, but kinda meh when actually used. I already swapped out the steering wheel for the flat bottom ssv one for the paddle shifters and along with it i had the dash trim, might go ahead and doo the door cards as well and...

SSV Series II vs Redline Series I

I must say the MY17 SS is damn good value for a base SS. HUD is a awesome addition. As it was an auto I added the paddle shifters and i feel its quite complete. Coming from an Manual cammed SS, i must say the better diff almost makes up for it. Brakes and lowering it would be nice, but...

    Rear wheel bearing shot

Mate of mine just had it done at profection. costs sounds reasonable. Better to buy quality parts as its quite labor intensive. no point skimping on parts and having to replace them later down the line.

    Brake upgrade for SS

I have T3s with XP pads all round. Upgraded to stainless steel braided lines, reconditioned the sliding pins, and the brake feel is great. Makes me reconsidering a brembo upgrade. DB 1766 and DB 2267 are the same dimension for height and length, i.e. they are interchangeable for calipers. 2267...

    VF2 brembo brake hose

Interested to hear that, would the rears ones be different? Curious as many aftermarket hose kits differentiate between brembo and non brembo hoses.

    VF2 brembo brake hose

As far as Im aware, the hose lengths are different for the between the stock sliding calipers and brembos. not sure about the banjo fitting at caliper end but i wouldn;t use it even if it fits given the different hose lengths.

    Post cat O2 sensor (S2 LS3)

This makes perfect sense as to why I have a permanent DTC code, i had to wait for a week before i could tune it and now it always there. Not annoying as CEL doesn;t turn on, but definitely wish that i didn't drive around for a week. This then poses the question, if the Post Cat o2 sensors are...

    Vf manual gearbox oil change

Probably a good practice to do, But I have never done replaced the washers and haven't ran into any trouble so far. Cleaning the surface and torque to spec has always done me right

    Velocity Superchargers

I think this is the main reason why I wanted to go centrifugal rather than a PD. The instant torque is nice for frying tires, but I'm aiming to keep it as a nice daily. A higher efficiency is also a big plus. Don't mind that the power comes in at a much higher rpm, as it gives me the option to...

    Velocity Superchargers

It's 3.5k for the charger , bracket and belt. Yes it's not intercooled or includes injectors. But apples to apples. Bracket and charger from a v3 vortech is around 6.5k from capa. So it's almost half price which makes me doubt. I pose the question what oiling system do they use, apparently...

    Velocity Superchargers

Yeah it's a different power curve, doesn't have the low end torque. But they go wild in the higher rpm. Seems like a really budget correct kit, just wondering what corners have been cut

    Velocity Superchargers

I'm curious to know if any has had any first hand experience with their products. https://www.facebook.com/velocitysuperchargers A side mount SC kit for 3.5k seems too good to be true.

    Upgrade from VZ to VF

Yes VF2 gets the mechanical sound enhancer and Bi modal exhaust, which in my opinion as a stock option is really nice. Sure the note isn't as nice as a proper aftermarket system, but it tame when the valves closed and loud when you floor it. You can delete the sound enhancer, most aftermarket...

    Headers Comparison LS3

I picked up an xforce system off the scrap and it fitted up no problem to my bimodal. When you say they don;t fit up i assume that the flanges are sorta rotated 90 degrees? or is your bimodals the spherical joint type?

27mm master cylinders with SSVR Brembo brakes

I have done the calculations based on the info I can get when I was upgrading the brakes. AP info was a bit hard to get so it may not be the accurate figures. But the and brembo, pbr & mando caliper specs i'm confident. Bottom line is that I have ran the brembo 6/4 pot combo on a 25 MC and it was...

    New Battery

I recently changed to an AC Delco Battery on my VF2 SS. The only step I took differently was that before I put it in, I charged it with a separate charger overnight so i know that a full battery is going in. First week battery was reading 15v, then dropped to 14.5 and now 14.1 Can confirm all...

What’s the best sized stall for my cam?

OTR headers & tune making 275rwkw. Std auto diff & cheap 245s on the rear. If tyres cold will definitely spin from standstill, mid corner... everywhere :) If tyres warmed up and surface is nice it will hook. Just picked up a set of RE003s 275s so may try that later.

Sway bar diameters VF1 SS FE2

My VF2 FE2 is 24mm front and 20mm rear. I would highly recommend getting a vernier caliper to measure it so you are not buying the wrong part. Front can be measured from engine bay and rears can be measured near the diff section. both doesn;t require you to jack the car up or taken any wheels off

VF SSV Redline Brembos fit WN2 Caprice?

I had the CTS-V 6/4 pot with a stock 25mm MC from the VE and worked fined. Enginnered signed off on it no problemo.

    VF Wagon sway bars

They are correct in not fiddling with the preload settings, there is not much to be gained there unless it is setup completely wrong. Where i was referring to is the dampening settings. Fronts are super easy to adjust by popping the bonnet open and twisting the adjustment knobs. Rears will be...

    VF Wagon sway bars

I would be more inclined to experiment with the dampening settings on your coil over first and see if that has the desired effect. What is leading you to feel that the current system is lacking?

    Exhaust advice - 2.5" down from 3

On my VF, I'm currently running 1 3/4 xforce headers - 100 cel cat 2.5" xforce mid section and stock VF2 2.25" Bimodals with the baille tip. I quite like this setup as with the valves closed it does get rid of the drone and sounds decent with it open. It is definitely a lot milder than the full...

    Larger Oil filter - LS3/L77

I suppose the major reason for doing this is a matter of just because I can. I might as try it out for shits and giggles. Cost wise seems to be similar. If i were to do it properly then yeah remote filter kit will be the way to go, but that would be quite low on the priority. With oil change...

    Larger Oil filter - LS3/L77

I'm curious if anyone has fitted a larger oil filter to their V8s? Granted the larger filter will protrude further down and may cause clearance issues. Stock - 85mm high http://www.sakurafilter.com/products/sak001-c-7971 Candidate 1 - 105mm high...

Widest wheels and tyres scrape free

I'm more referring if the rolling radius are not the same I.e 245/40/19 with 275/40/20 . this makes the rear 7% larger. I feel that aesthetically to have rear to be quite a bit larger would suit well in the wheel well. I suppose purpose built drag/ burnout machines are like that but they would...

Thats a great idea. Im going to do that. just for a piece of mind. Granted wish i could print a custom one out as I believe I will ending up opting for 245/285 fitment. I'm going to settle on F 19X9 ET 37 R 19X10.5 ET53 Yeah i'm hoping that someone was curious enough to make reprogram the asb...

Widest wheels and tyres scrape free

Widest wheels and tyres scrape free

Looks great man. Never though about trimming the guards instead of rolling them, is there any risk of it rusting from the cut? I think I will go ahead and spec it with 245 front and 285 rear. Trouble is finding 19*10 wheels that I like. Do you think 10.5" will work with 285? or is it better...

Widest wheels and tyres scrape free

Yea, I definitely agree that the factor offsets are terrible, I had Roh RF3s and there were a decent fitment with the F being 8.5 ET35 R being 9.5 ET35 If i were to do it again i think i would go for below F 8.5 ET 30 R 9.5 ET 40 But that is based on 245/275. Seeing that there is more to go...

    Vf wont start

I would think key fob too, perhaps replace the battery. The slot for the key fob if flat is in the center console storage. try placing your key there and then start. I think it may be the immobilizing activiating as it is not detecting the key properly.
