    [General] VN-VZ Ignition Repair

Yes that is correct having a big bunch of keys hanging from the ignition ruins it. All I have is car key house key and work key that is it. It pisses me off having a massive bunch of keys to carry around.

    [General] VN-VZ Ignition Repair

Don’t use grease in the keyway where the key is inserted. Just squirt a little Inox in the keyway then push the key in and out a few times to work the lubrication through the moving parts in the barrel.

how to remove ignition barrel from a vz executive

Yes a new barrel and worn keys will likely cause an issue. A new key cut to code and a worn barrel is generally ok. Copying a worn key is not always the best. Even copying a new key is not 100% accurate if the machine is not spot on.

Losh's latest, 955 Triumph Sprint ST

I wouldn’t buy anything but proper riding gloves and safety gear. It’s only one time that you and your wife may need it and it will literally save your skin. Just having any normal leather gloves is not going to stand up to a fall on the bike. I would also be wary of eBay stuff as most of it...

Losh's latest, 955 Triumph Sprint ST

As far as I’m aware the LED’s need a ballast or something for them to work correctly. Just go back to the original lights they are much better. As for a pipe and tune. You won’t notice any difference in the power. Just rev the thing harder. Bikes love the revs.

    My HSV Clubsport

Yep @MrBags is correct. $1250 for one tail light.

    My HSV Clubsport

You can still get new genuine tail lights from Holmart. I bought one recently. I don’t trust the second hand ones with a description of excellent condition. And in the photo you can actually see the scratches.

VF & VE second hand rare & demanding high Prices.

I have just purchased a high km VE GTS. The price was right for me as that is all the money I was willing to spend. I don’t mind the high km as I want to drive the car not leave it sitting there in the garage. As was said above if the car has been used I come to believe that everything still...

VF genuine roof racks locks seized, how to remove?

Make sure you use the stick on the can of WD40. Put the stick inside the part where the key goes and spray so the lube actually gets inside the lock. Then push the key in and out a lot to loosen up the wafers. This will hopefully get your keys to work.

Ignition barrel in Ve locking as i turn key

Where the key is inserted into the barrel with the wafers/pins are yes do not use grease. On the outside of the cylinder (which is what the barrel with the wafers is housed in) is ok to use grease as the manufacturer does, but Inox will also lubricate those parts. Just don’t flood it. There...

Ignition barrel in Ve locking as i turn key

If the lock is new don’t touch it. If the lock is old, remove the barrel clean with brake cleaner and make sure there is no grit left from dust and dirt from general usage. Once fully clean a little Inox (no grease in the barrel where the key is inserted) grease is sometimes used by the...

Ignition barrel in Ve locking as i turn key

Graphite powder is really good if there is absolutely no chance of any moisture being present. If the graphite powder gets any moisture or other lubricants mixing it actually turns the graphite powder into a grinding paste and destroys everything. I just tell people to avoid graphite powder all...

Ignition barrel in Ve locking as i turn key

I highly advise against putting grease in a key barrel. The grease will not allow the parts inside the barrel to function properly.

Summernats 36 who is here ?

This is the GTS I spotted on the video’s. That’s crazy if it’s an actual GTS.

Summernats 36 who is here ?

Watching some of the video’s on YouTube, If you look for Sydney Skids or MisFire. It looks like the crowd safety fellas might be in a little bit of trouble. I would assume by the video’s that they may be charged with assault. Did I actually see a VF GTS in the skid comp?

    Currently Experiencing Problems

I am actually a locksmith. I do not know how to do car keys though it’s something I have never done. Yes you can get cheap fixes for car keys. It also depends on which model of vehicle. I just purchased a HSV and they are totally different to the standard commodore. I had Horizon Locksmiths...
