well i didnt get the cam done..... i bought this instead:) 06 VE GTS Manual, has VCM OTR intake, mafless tune and big bore, going on dyno in next couple of weeks :)

they are lovells springs i got for a song, not sure on SSSL possibly just SSL....

yeah im well happy with the result, next is de spoiler the boot lid, then save some cash for cam and bigger brakes... oh to win lotto about now! its good to have a vision from std and see it materialse and look the way you think it should, best part is here in my hometown there are plenty SS VZ...

wheels back looks exactly how i imagined/wanted :)

wheels at painter this week, new rear tires next week then a full detail for use as the wedding car next weekend!

love the colour engine bay is great, the VN SS is a good base for super-detailing, very nice!

so i just noticed splits in the sidewalls on my front 2 GT Radials, shoot to the local GT Radial shop, and got 2 new ones free thru their 5 year replacement policy!! Big ups to GT Radials (NZ) for that!! now i only need to fork out for 2 new back ones (bald-damit wonder how that happened!!)

i took my SS and commodore ones off, the lion will stay until i remove the spoiler and get all the holes filled and repainted..

venetians in the back window? havent seen them for years! had a set in a fiat 125 lol! looks pretty tough, love an atlas grey VN SS :)

have to have rims done(re painted black) by 28th jan using it as a wedding car :)

finally got to blacken the SS badges and guard flutes.. now just the rims and de-spoiler and the outside is complete (for now at least lol)

i had one of these back when i was a youngn: i have the Ferrari now as well :) i loved Lego back when you bought a box and could build a multitude of things! i do see they have released a "creator" series now.... was great stimulation for a youngster to just build stuff!!

nah no interior pics, looks just like every other impluse blue SS with black leather interior :)

so i gave the rear some de-badge treatment, the Lion will stay (in its new satin black paint) until i remove the rear spoiler and possibly french in a V8 supercar style hi-stop light into the bootlid :) (NZ law dictates i must have one and dont want to be swapping the rear screen for an acclaim...

i love the no spoiler rear and you have confirmed for me i need my rims to be black! (shame mine dont have a lip to colour code thou :() also def paint the lion black and loose the calais trim... its nice on a calais with the extra chrome etc but isnt suiting the clean colour co-ordination you...

back in 87 i doubt people looked at the VL Director and thought "thats great Value"??? it was something like 87000 (AUD) back then!! so really, at 100g for a VE one IS good value.... now, im only 100g short.... i would have one for the "sentimental" value, and the exclusiveness is good too...

thread dig but is it possible to remove the chrome flutes without removing the entire guard? this was the only thread i could find.... im wanting to repaint mine but need to remove them to do it properly! cheers !

it has Lovells springs and after a couple weekend road trips i am impressed with the ride quality! , my tuner had a customer that didnt like the lowered suspension in his V8 Acclaim ( i think) so we just swapped :) and yeah, the height is good, esp with NZ having some pretty henous roads!

she is a keeper then! looks good! slightly different enough to have its own personality :)
