i was reading a thread were someone was saying for a cheap nice sound take out the back muffler on the exhaust system? does this work is it effective and were would you get the pipe?

are performance chips off ebay actually worth it? do they work or will they stuff your car? have got pretty much $500 to play with. getting a exhaust and a hi flow filter, will one of these chips help?
