    241Kw V6 Camaro

And 1 very nice one there too by the look of your avatar. You bastard :) I've always liked the Mustangs old & new. Except the fox body of the early 80's. It was like "rap" is to music. It just lost its way.

    241Kw V6 Camaro

Apples with apples! You forgot that (most important) part of my post. The only thing the 2 cars in your post share is that they're both red. Even if the Enzo had maginally less power, it would still win. Look at the wheel track, braking and aeros etc. They're a race car come road car. Not the...

    Losing Tune

Thats where Ford tunes with the CAPA box rules over Holden. Before you take your car in for a service, you just re-install the factory tune. If they happen to flash it, you still have your tune (in the CAPA box) When you get home you just re-flash your tune back in. So to answer your question...

    241Kw V6 Camaro

Assuming Tsunamix was comparing apples with apples, it isn't bullsh!t at all and the Falcon is the best example to explain that. An XR8 producing 260kw is 120kg(ish) heavier that a XR6T producing 245kw. Now boost the XR6 by just +5psi and it produces exactly the same power and torque as the V8...

Ways to keep cats off your car

Every time we came home there was a cat sleeping on our front door mat so a mate suggested I sprinkle pepper on the door mat. So we did. Next time we came home....no cat. I thought brilliant. Except it did a sh!t there instead. That is a true story. I hate cats and apparently they hate me.

Holy crap! This tread was started in 2008. The cat could have died by now.

    Electric turbos??

You don't have to like them, but you would be a fool not to respect them. IMO

    Possible gearbox issues? Normal?

Mine hangs on in 2nd gear even when not in sports mode. It will stay there for about 200 metres if I let it. I have to flick it to neutral, then back to drive. The car's like :idea3:.....oh yeah...3rd gear.

    241Kw V6 Camaro

Personally I see Camaros as old muscle. Even the dash is portrayed as such. 6cyls in these is almost sacrilege. Much the same as Holden rebirthing Monaros with a 6cyl. It just shouldn't be. IMHO

    Electric turbos??

Commodore wana bes? You obviously haven't lined up against an XR6 turbo running only 14PSI have you. And thats just the first upgrade.

    Learner's Fudging Log Books

Yeah mate you nailed it. It always seems to be someone else that pays the price. Hey I got no problem with anyone that wants to leave a set of lines on a remote road but the ones that do it in carparks full of people should be thrown in goal. There should be levels from 1 to 5 of hoonism :) 1...

    Buying Cars interstate

This is just my opinion and won't sit well with everyone but when you see a bargain you have to pounce. If it's a private sale, forget it. It's a long way for you to go and the seller could lie through their teeth about its condition considering they have nothing to lose. If its from a...

    Learner's Fudging Log Books

A hoon is a hoon and no amount of logbook driving hours is going to take the "hoon gene" out of him. Age is the only thing that filters that from these guys. A hoon could do 3 times the required amount of logbook time and still want to rip a set of tyres apart on Friday night. 120 hours is just...

    VE Suspension Question

I've spoken to two other people now (1 with GTS & 1 with SS) and both said they felt the rear suspension do the same thing. One said it felt like the rear tyres were tram lining and the other said it felt like pressures were low. I can only guess that when people here talk about VEs having crap...

    Gearbox Troubles ...

Mine does exactly the same thing. It flares out from 2nd to 3rd. Mine also does this. When you're coming down a long hill and it systematically drops down through the gears to say 3rd gear, it gets stuck in 3rd when you put the accelerator down. It will stay in 3rd for about 200 metres or...

    VE Suspension Question

Thanks for the reply. It just confirms my suspicions of the Monroe / Kings combination. Thanks for the offer of the Bilsteins but I can get a new set for less. Unfortunately they don't do a retro fit for the VE fronts. Cheers

    Work utes

Yeah good point. I have to drive really carefull because I carry highly flammable / corrosive agents so yeah that would account for something. I also run 60psi in my tyres too which would help.

    VE Suspension Question

My car is fitted with lowered Kings and Monroes on 19's. They were on the car when I bought it and definately would not have been my choice but I left them alone. I had Bilsteins and Lovells on my previous car and they were nothing short of awesome. Anyway my question is. Is it normal for...

Holy crap. My little Bravo B2600 delivers around 3-4 tonne weekly and gets 460-470 per every tank. Hilux must suck some fuel. Are they really that bad?

Can someone help solve the following problem?

Telling by the length of this thread (so far), is the reason why we drive family sedans and not Lamborghinis or Farraris :)

    Ask The Copper

This is what the NSW rule says. Probably the same for VIC ($2200 fine too) No overtaking etc to the left of a vehicle (1) A driver (except the rider of a bicycle) must not overtake a vehicle to the left of the vehicle unless: (a) the driver is driving on a multi-lane road and the vehicle...

Having tune after changing cats? If not $10,00 fine??

I did some research and the fines under current legislation and regulations are for... Victoria - 20 penalty units ($220) NSW - 200 penalty units ($22,000) for an individual. 400 penalty units ($44,000) for a company. These are maximum penalties for vehicles not reaching EPA standards.

    Work utes

I have a 2003 Mazda Bravo with a 2.6lt 4cyl. which carries 1 tonne pallets every 3rd day and it does it easily. Every other day of the week it's hand loaded with between 400-600kg. 35000klm a year doing that work and it hasn't let me down. I've used a 1 tonne BA Falcon to do the same job and the...

    urban myth on octane boost.....

For one thing, distillate is nothing more than heating oil with colour added so why would it need a very high RON. Running a cup and a half of distillate in a petrol engine long term will kill it.

    Latest phone scam

Your "old girl" may have given her details out quite innocently just by entering a contest years ago. That's just one way. When you enter a contest, all details you provide become their property to use by them in future promotions and it gives them the right to pass this information to other...

    Ask The Copper

My understanding is... It's not the signs you take into consideration, it's the road markings. Assuming you're in the outside lane, you have to give way when there are "lane ending" lines marked on the road whether you indicate or not. If a driver won't let you merge and you hit his car by...

    Importing from america?

The only way you can import these days is via a RAWS (Registered Automotive Workshop) for cars/bikes built post 1989 and they still have to conform with eligibility. If its sold here in high production, it's not eligible. Like if you tried to import a supercharged Vauxhall VXR8 from Britain...

    Speeding Margin to be axed.

(Display Speed – Actual speed) = 0.1 Actual speed + 4 km/h as in the ADR. So if your speedo is reading say 100kmh, you are actually travelling at circa ~95kph assuming driven straight off the production line. The tolerance allows for tyre wear and pressure I would think.

BA xr6 turbo ute as a second car

Its not that they are a weak box. It's just that it's so easy & inexpensive to extract power from an XR6T that the gearbox becomes a weak link. Pump 300rwkw into most boxes and give it a hiding and you can destroy almost any gearbox. As far as AG security's ute goes with replacing the box 5...
