The New Commodore VFII is Coming

website has been updated now. $49k driveaway for a base model SS is a bit of a joke IMO.

doesn't look much better on the redline. That wheel gap is pretty horrid.

VE ute quick release seat handle not working

Hey there, I have a problem with my driver's side seat handle/quick release latch that you're suppose to pull on to bring the seat forward to get to the storage area behind. Specifically, when I pull on the handle it feels like it has somehow dislodged itself and isn't actually moving the seat...

    Pacemaker headers retaining factory cats

Got a retune yesterday and it picked up an extra 5-6rwkw (at least that's what Mark from Powertorque said) not sure why there's only 1 line on the dyno sheet. Stock tune with OTR made 214rwkw (pretty normal for an auto from what I understand). No idea what it made with stock intake as I didn't...

    Pacemaker headers retaining factory cats

Ended up taking a better video of my setup this morning. To reiterate, this setup consists of hsv extractors to high flow cats to xpipe to hurricane rear mufflers.

    Pacemaker headers retaining factory cats

honestly I wouldn't bother if you're going to keep the stock hsv cats. They're basically the same as the ones on an SS but with a different/even more restrictive bend on the inlet. I would get at least 200 cell cats made up to fit. I believe HM have a pair of high flow 200 cell cats that will...

    Pacemaker headers retaining factory cats

I had VF clubsport oem tri-y extractors installed last week which are bolted to high flow cats that retain the stock flange positions. Even without a retune makes a massive difference to throttle response and noise. Once I get it retuned next week, I'll post up a dyno sheet showing the gains...

VE SS UTE with kings SSL-HD rear load carrying springs and stock FE2 front

I think I've technically gone two steps lower in the rear than stock. Lows or kings SL should be slightly lower than fe2/stock but would still probably look a bit jacked up in the rear

VE SS UTE with kings SSL-HD rear load carrying springs and stock FE2 front

Car only has 28,000kms on the odo and I've owned it from brand new. Think the shocks are probably still in decent condition.

VE SS UTE with kings SSL-HD rear load carrying springs and stock FE2 front

Yeah standard shocks. From the drive in from the suspension shop to work this morning, it's slightly bumpier than stock but not by much. I got a wheel alignment done as well as I was getting some shaking in the steering wheel before. This is now gone now. Rear grip seems better going around...

VE SS UTE with kings SSL-HD rear load carrying springs and stock FE2 front

Just thought I'd post up some pics of my ute which was lowered this morning. I was only looking to lower the rear as the front is already scraping at the stock FE2 height, but I struggled to find any pics of this setup before I did it. Hopefully these pics will help you decide if you want to do...

    Recommended mechanic Brisbane southside

Thanks for the info, just wanted to check that I'm not getting ripped. The cheapest I've found is $200 exactly from a fairly reputable independent suspension shop. If I breakdown the price, that's $70 for the alignment and $130 for the install (2hrs @ $65 per/hr) - guess that doesn't sound so...

    Recommended mechanic Brisbane southside

Hey there, I just bought some Kings SSL-HD springs for my VE SS ute and I'm looking to get them installed. I've called about 5-6 suspension related places and they want anywhere from $200-300 to install rear springs as well as a 4 wheel alignment (I need this done anyway, regardless if I get...

    MARS Bumper Bar LED DRL

There's a small box that hangs off the power splitter cable. I'm guessimg that's a resistor or something and is what regulates brightness.

    MARS Bumper Bar LED DRL

Left work a bit earlier today to install the drls at home and it was a piece of piss. Basically you piggyback the ignition fuse, which is the bottom left fuse (number 39 i think) so that the leds turn on when you turn the key. Power comes from the drivers side headlight via a splitter...

Did these make a difference with the stock headunit? I have a pair of these on order from amazon (about $80 AU delivered) to replace some blown/buzzing door speakers.

    MARS Bumper Bar LED DRL

yeah, I'm not too keen on running a wire from the engine bay to the cabin if it requires drilling or disassembly of the dash. I took the plunge and bought a pair, so I guess I'll know in a few days time how it goes. I'll post up some pics and thoughts when I get them.

    MARS Bumper Bar LED DRL

yeah, I'm pretty sure the Gen-F HSV's have this same feature (i.e. DRLs still work at night with headlights on, but at a lower intensity). source: HSV Gen-F / GTS "DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS The dual function lamp runs as a Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) and a Position Lamp meaning they can be seen at...

What kind of tires you guys running on your VE's?

I run Federal 595 SS in 255/45/18 on stock SS rims. Grip is a lot better in the dry than the OEM RE050As. Good looking tread and meaty looking tyre.

    Scratched glovebox/dashboard repair

Thanks for the responses guys. yeah, got my eye on that one too, but will sus out the "staff price" for a new one through the parts department at the stealership. Got a mate of a mate that works there. Hopefully the door only costs about $30, which is all I'm prepared to pay, otherwise I...

    Scratched glovebox/dashboard repair

I stupidly scratched my glovebox with the metal buckle of a bag yesterday. The scratch is pretty deep. I can run my fingernail into the groove and it's white in colour (no pic atm sorry). 2007 VE HSV Clubsport R8 Brakes - Who manufactures them?

how much "should" it cost to install springs into my car

I want my ve ute to sit 20-25mm lower in the rear, so I've been looking at springs only e.g. Kings SL (lows). I can get the springs for $130 (2), but fitment will cost $450 (wheel alignment not included) - that's powertorque. Called pedders and they tried to sell me a $2.5k coilover system...

Price for decent High flow cats & headers

any new with this yet? I saw a graph once that showed the biggest restriction in the stock ve ss exhaust are the cats. With this in mind, would it be better to: 1) use the stock headers and fit 200 cell cats, or 2) retain the stock 400 cell cats and fit a set of pacemaker PH5377 headers...
