2002 VU ute fuel pump

I've just got ahold of a vu ute with a fucked fuel pump can you put a fuel pump out of a vt or are they different

The VT fuel pump and the VU fuel pump are different part numbers, so I expect they would be different. There's a difference between the V6 and V8 assemblies as well. You can however change the whole fuel pump module assembly (rather than just the pump) to one from a VT/VX and it'd be fine (provided you match V6/V8).
