Different LS sump guides and dimensions

Found this excellent reference for LS sumps.
Of interest is the Cross8, SX8, CX8 Adventra sump is borrowed from the Chevy Trailblazer SS. Or was the Chevy Trailblazer SS sump borrowed from the CrossTrac drive line? Hmm.

So the VE’s had over 30% more oil capacity but probably the same recommended service interval as all the other LS powered Commodores.

Either the service interval can be extended for VEs with the 8 quart pan or the service interval should be pulled back for the 6 quart pans (probably the latter).

Oil filter location is different to our Adventras by the looks of that pic

Ahh. So it is.
I find looking at the parts bin that is used on the CrossTrac equipped drive lines interesting. Thought I was onto something there.
