Hey guys n gals.
I've got a problem with my 2004 VZ SS crewman I hoping someone can help me with.
The temp and fuel gauges stopped working yesterday.
The lts/100km is also not functioning correctly.
Everything else is working as it should.
Any ideas of what the problem is will be appreciated...
Thanks

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
I’d grab another VZ SS cluster from a wrecker. Can be sedan or wagon.
Plug it in. If all the gauges work, problem is your cluster.

There might be some airbag warnings etc but it will work. Fuel might be a bit out. However it will work.

If it checks out, send the good cluster off to be calibrated for your Crewman. LSextreme and Envyous Customs are two I can think of. Not sure who would calibrate the clusters in the New Zealands

For both to fail,
there has to be a common denominator/cause,

Remove the Plug on the Temp Sender and check for voltages,
and for a ground connection,

Same with the Fuel Sender,
Check for voltages at the plug,
Pending you have easy access to them.

Did that. Got another cluster. Gauges still don't work. But now I have an airbag fault as well...

As mentioned, that will be the outcome quite often.

Getting this far will have eliminated a lot of diagnostic work you won’t have to pay for, for who ever takes over now.

You can on sell the cluster to recoupe your costs if you don’t want it.

To go further is going to need advanced diag equipment like bidirectional scan tools and an oscilloscope to locate the source of the fault.

It’s not going to be achieved in a driveway without such equipment.
