ok. this is gonna sound like a reeeealy stupid thread, but anyway;

i have my car booked in for dyno on wednesday, so i have this weekend to get everything setup up and ready to go. now, although i think i am pretty handy with cars, there is no harm in double and triple checking things.

so, pre flight checks... what should i be checking? i dont wanna break anything cos this engine has been 4 or so months in the making.

lol. silly huh? meh. getting a lift home from the dyno in a tow truck would be silly-er

Putting it on the dyno isn't really any different to driving it around, so as long as ur oil and water levels are good, u should be good to go.

Is it a new motor which hasn't been running, or has it been used already?

The day b4 we were suppose to get a dyno run, we removed the roller rockers and put the steel rockers back on coz they kept coming loose....and luckily we did it coz a retainer was pulling through. If we even started it up once more it would of dropped a valve.....we were VEEEEEEEERY lucky!

Here's a pic of the retainer.

Take it out to the far end of your street, give it 6500 rpm and if it's still running when you get to your house it's all good, if not..... It's easier to get back in the shed than if it happend on the dyno :) (this theory works for me before I drive to the drags)
