Rs Turbo engine sound

Hi all, I'm a new Holden owner and I have a some what silly question?
I have the 2019 Holden Commodore Zb My19 Rs
Is the turbo engine suppose to be quiet. My brother asked me why it's so quiet. Usually turbo is a bit loud.

they are designed to be quiet with the intake and exhaust used, the intake muffles most of the turbo sounds/blow off ect

Turbo technology has come a long way. For the most part though, turbocharged cars are no longer just for enthusiasts and manufacturers put a lot of effort into keeping noise out of the car for the 99% in modern cars. That commonality also means that unlike almost every VLT and turbo import from the 90s, people aren't putting hectic blow off valves and dose pipes on every turbo car in sight. Having said that, largely most stock turbo setups from back in the day aren't particularly loud until people start messing with them.

yeah the modern "factory" turbo does not really go PSHHHH PSHHHH

The moment it has a cold air intake on it, the turbo gets pretty loud. Mine sure did

yea the blow off is at the inlet of the turbo and just vents to the intake being muffled, a pod filter will awaken those sounds, ive got one ready to go on my cruze see how it sounds
