Just confirming, my vg column shift has 2 drive gears.
I'm assuming the blue one would be overdrive?
Any info appreciated

The blue one is 4th gear (4L60 otherwise known as T700R4)

I bet your selector shows -" 1 2 D [D] N R P "-

My column shift VP has one that shows -" 1 2 3 [D] N R P "- and there is no difference in the transmissions

I was thinking of the VR-VS column shift "Quadrant selector"

It really makes little difference to the actual operation;

Dropping the gear into the white D will drop the gear into 3rd if cruising in the blue [D]
there is also no way to hold a gear unless you modify the gearbox electronics as it will always shift at rev limit even if in 1st

So it's pointless essentially? Lol

That blue interior!

The point of it to begin with is to show you what gear youre in if you are an average joe, I just am familiar so i go by feel.

The point of the 2nd D is idk man, couldnt afford any number 3 stickers or something at the factory

No #3 stickers :cool:
Took that vg for its first drive since April last year and went smooth as. I was impressed with how quick it is to switch gears

Now that i think on it the T700 might hold a gear if you move the kickdown cable all the way in on the intake manifold...

On the black plate; middle of the intake manifold there are 2 cables usually, one for accelerator pedal and one for kickdown.
You can push the little metal half moon shape in; then pull the cable in and out to change what revs the box shifts at. So you can do hectic 1st gear burnouts!
Forget which way increases or decreases
