Vs l67 knocking after CAS replaced

I have a vs wagon with a l67 in it was running a little rough and CAS crank angle sensor was coming up so replaced it and put harmonic balance back on but now motor is knocking loud and idea why this would be happening and how to fix it ?

Take the belt off and try to run the engine. If the knock goes away it will likely be the balancer.

I’ve taken the belts off knock is still there

Is the cas seated correctly? If the fins on the harmonic balancer are bent it will hit the cas

Yeah everything is perfect, now when I put harmonic balancer on for the 26th time the car won’t start, not codes either

Re put harmonic balancer on and now starts but still knocking this has all started from putting new crank angle sensor
