Well I'm back, I have spoken to the technician and they didn't watch for drain back when doing the pressure test whilst looking for the hard starting problem, makes me wonder a bit hey....anyway so I picked up a el cheapo one from supercheap and checked it myself after pressurizing the system, these are approx as it's just a Chinese one...54psi primed and 59psi running and it does drain back slowly, so it must be faulty right.

I know the the running psi is correct but how about the primed measurement. I have 2 service books but they are in storage so I'll have to dig em out when I'm down that way soon.

Is the check valve part of the unit and can't be changed?

Also just so I know what is a reasonable charge for a new pump assembly plus fitting as I'm staying with relatives and can't really drop a tank at the moment.

I'm thinking 2 - 3 hours labour plus part/s.

Ok I'm back with an update, new pump installed and its still bleeding pressure off, I'm suspecting injector/s, I can test that myself next as it's the cheapest of the 2 things I'm mentioning.

I also have read there is a hose connecting the pump to the swirl pot inside the tank which can deteriorate and cause pressure problems, would have been great to know prior to work been done as they could of handled it then. Maybe helpful to next person though.

Just have to add there is no visible or smellable fuel leak anywhere.
