Wanted 300Hp

Hey guys i'm not to switched on about the good old 5litre but I have bought one and need more power.... What would it take to get 300Hp atw without spending a small fortune ??? I understand te whole exhaust cam and memcal thing but I want a little more without breaking the budget.......

i dont know much bout the vn ss but according to powerchip your ss should be 215 kw which aint much off of 300 hp as i understand 225 kw is 300 horse. the chip will take it to 240 kw max using the right petrol the chip is $690 max then with a cold air intake from ss inductions for $299 will add a few kws with new maf pipes and filters on the same page .... http://www.ssinductions.com.au/vnvsv8.htm

But i think dr bob in this forum does memcals so you should give him a bell and ask him how much for your model

yella terra heads, port matched intake, stage 3 cam, chip, and a set of extractors should do very nicely....roughly $4000 to get done as the heads are worth $2 grand alone

Go to crow cams get a stage 2kit if ya gonna change to fresh bottom end with flat top pistons otherwise just go stage one with tri y headers and VT air box.
