Mine is almost identical to the first one add a set of Pacey Tri-Y's. I too get the 5 litre-ish burble at around 2000rpm or thereabouts, but it drones in 3rd usually, anything above that it's alright, just rumbles.

My mate i borrowed the street slicks off had a VY S1 SS ute with a whipple blower on it, even his mild steel zorst droned. I hear it's a little bit of an LS1 problem. I'm not fussed though, will still sound a bit better.

Agreed ^^^ When i got the ute from the car yard, it had the stock system with no rear muffler. Sounded shithouse. Sounded very very faintly OK if you revved it really high, but not really. Then i had the cat back fitted, sounded microscopically better, still sounded like a droney V6, then after...

On a standard system, yep they sound shithouse. Lucky i got Pacemaker extractors and a twin 2.5" system on it. Otherwise i wouldn't bother.
