cheers guys, but I'm assuming a vacuum leak would not fix itself though, hence high idle wouldn't fix itself like it did? might be something internally on the carby then by the sounds of it...might unbolt it and spray some lube inside and out o all the moving parts. Drove it today and it idled...

I've got the same issue on my vh. Ordered the replacement rust panel from rare spares $160 if I pick it up.. Anyone know how much a panel shop would charge to remove old one, weld and paint new piece?? up to 1k seems fair, but I'm dredding a quote!
