  • Hey Rhys i need some help, me and a mate are heading down to a wreckers that has a bunch of VY and Vz's that have just come in and we are going to get the diff cradles. when we get under the cars, WTF are we looking for and how much do we need to take out, and have you got any pics so we know what we are looking for??

    Cheers Jonesy

p.s im asking chris the same question lol
Well there you go then, are you doing it yourself? It's not too hard too do if you got some tools and if you had a rattle gun it's a 1 day job.

There's the problem, because you toe will be fixed and camber even you will realise that you may scrub and loose your clearance, because the camber and toe will be straight your tires wont be tucked in :( I had to get my superlows taken out after it :( but good luck defs fixed my problem
I'm not sure if a VZ cradle will fit, apparently they have different shocker mounts and the tailshafts are different. but idk i thought it was anywhere from vx2 untill vy2. But you may have to see how you go.

Okay so when i did my cradle and put in super lows it was fine and drove it around for a night, because it hadnt been aligned the camber was tucking the rim under the guards so no bad rubbing. The next morning i got a wheel alignment and it fixed my toe completly and camber quite a bit, but this presented the problem of only having 5mm of clearance from my 245/35/19's :( so i went back to fe2 :( this may be because of the gas tank but you may clear easy.

Anyways me and my mechanic mate did it in 2 days because we rounded a tailshaft bold and had to get a new one the next day. if you want i write up a little how to, dont have many pictures but can get some? If your know what your doing and dont mess up it's an all day easy job :)
    hey mate,
yer did the series 2 diff cradle this weekend, first time so took it slow we did it the hard way by trying to undo the driveshaft stuff with it still in the car and rounded a hex bolt :( 50 bucks later for a driveshaft (my one was nackered anyways) and yer poped it in today with super lows and monroe loweredshockers :) she looks amazing, hardly any camber but i have to get a wheel alignment cause the toes are rooted, but now i have the toe adjusters im laughing :)

its a bit job tho, ill get some pics up this week when i get the alignment and all
lol was just surfing youtube and this came up as a recommended video, thought it looked familiar YouTube - My Car, Holden Commodore VX S
thanks mate, i found some sl springs all round on calais turbo which im picking up this week and a chrome mould finnaly for the calais garnish :) hopefully ill clear the driveway with them.
bought a new boot lid last night, going to purchase a bumper today and do a hell of a lot of work on the weekend lol.
ahh fair enough, not for a few weeks yet, still waiting on a bumper and the mace spacers.
i thought you only had the muffler taken out lol. just about finished respraying my front quarter panel, waiting on a price for the bumper and saving for the mace plenum and manifold insulators.
