I can't explain why all of the relays would be hot collectively assuming there is no nearby heat source. The overcharging and whatnot - have you checked the engine and battery are grounded properly?

Sounds like you have nailed the issue. I'm assuming you have removed and reattached the two connectors from the ECU?
Maybe get a second hand ECU installed and coded to your car...Saves a lot of hassle trying to fix it.
A big worry is the apparent absence of oil from when you bought it. It may not have been as low as you thought, if the Oil warning light only came on after driving 100 kms. You have the 'mild diesel' sound coming and going - Maybe oil pump? Blocked sump oil pickup? Engine sludge?
