factory ss mufflers, preferably series 2 ones

I bet majority of those better sounding SS's just have muffler delete pipes as that is a common cheap mod (like $150 for the pair)

Have you talked to any performance shops about what you want? They might have a better idea what is needed to be done to reach your goal.

My car had the same issue, turns out it is a known fault in manual ve ss's which can be solved by replacing the clutch slave cylinder.

Sounds very much like your gear box has done a 4 speed conversion. So yes you either need to rebuild your current one or buy a new one.

You need to get a non afm cam (like the L98 cam) or an aftermarket cam, both will require a tune (since you need to get the afm disabled in the ecu)

if you are interested in a centrifugal supercharger. Procharger also makes a kit for the ve commodore which if speced right can support up to 1k hp for around 15-16k, but start at around 10k (same as vortech)

is your car auto or manual? Centrifugal superchargers are way more forgiving to your drive train as it doesn't create all of it's torque as soon as your put the skinny pedal to the floor. Centrifugal superchargers also have a higher efficiency and don't sap as much power to turn them vs pd...

Very simple is that you get what you pay for. Some of their compressor impeller designs remind me of very ancient centrifugal supercharger designs and don't seem to make that much boost (minus the fact that they don't come with intercoolers). I have the vortech v3 ti trim kit on my ve commodore...

If i remember, the older walkinshaw exhausts were made by difillipo, while the current ones are made by xforce
