Gasket height, deck height, chamber volumeHi guys I'm new member I'm in the middle of doing up a VB commodore n rebuilding the 304 so far I have holly 600dp,edlebrock duel high rise manifold,crow cam h 286 cam kit,cloyes double row timing chain set Ive been reading that the 286 cam needs 10.5 comp what would I need to do to get that Im getting the mace flattop pistons 20 thou oversized ones what else needs to be done sorry first time rebuilding a engine
ok Kool cheers mate much appreciaredI'm running 10.75 compression with zero deck height, flat top pistons, felpro head gasket and 59cc heads.

And stroke itIf u work in a engine machining shop u may as well take it into work and zero deck your block, hone or bore depending on the condition of the bores of course, new rings, cam bearings, rod and main bearings etc do it once and properly
