Auto shifter lockout

Hi have a VZ adventurer v6 5 speed auto project car my problem is the shifter moves freely through gears with out pressing shift button any ideas where the lockout could be in the shifter or box Thanks all

It’s in the shifter.
It uses a cable operated shift linkage which differs to regular commodores that go through the floor.
