Hi,

I know this has been covered to death, but I can’t get the springs out the back of my VX Berlina sedan for the life of me. Yes, I’ve taken out the lower shock bolt and the sway bar link, still not dropping enough. I’ve tried spring compressors, can’t even get them on properly because everythings too tight in the back. I did the jack in the wheel arch to push it down, still not enough. I’ve got someone to jump on the hub/rotor to push it down, nothing. Do I bother with dropping the diff or is there an easier way that will work? Undo the CV from the hub? Thanks.

Yep, sorry. Should’ve mentioned that. It’s on stands too, not supported by diff and in neutral.

Where are your jack stands?

Try standing on the wheel to push the swing arm down a bit more. From memory the stock spring won't just pop out so you'll still have to pry them out/compress them slightly.

On my wagon l had to stand on the hubs & bounce them, before they would release.
I'm less than 60 kg in weight, so doable.

Jack stands are just infront of the rear wheels on the jacking plate. No good?
