Can't attach ss centre caps

Series 1 and s2 I believe..
Still same size. I agree, caps with all lugs intact feel too tight...
Maybe a dab of lube, and good clean of cap/wheel area..
Unfortunately I've busted a few lugs off perfect caps...

I know there are two types. There’s ones with little ridges around the centre like on my Crewman. Then there are ones like you have with the squarer sections around the centre. Maybe there is a subtle difference in them?

I looked further into it. On the rear of the caps, there were some small spigots of plastic preventing the caps from engaging the tabs.

I trimmed them with a Stanley knife and problem solved.

Interestingly, a broken cap that came with the ute is subtly different.

Sorry for picking up an old thread but out of curiosity what plastic did you trim? I picked up a set of these caps today and for the life of me couldn’t get them to go on.
