If you want the parts & labour to come with warranty better to let them supply & install.

Then sure as fark you can bring that biatch back in if any issues lol

Same with mine.

The 3.46's I had in the M80 before were factory as it was from a VX and they were quiet as, but I think some of the aftermarket gears just aren't as refined or maybe they are built with harder steel/teeth patterns to handle performance applications while sacrificing NVH.
Mine were 2nd hand used gears. So it was a shot in the dark to get the mesh right.
Guess I almost hit it if it's silent on accel aye.

Were you contemplating doing the whole job yourself, or just wondering about whether to supply someone the gears or not?

Thanks for the feed back blokes, it is a solid axle diff and is your topical m78 housing but m75 internals is what I was told, we just came across some 3.9 pintara diff gears brand new apparently they are m75 I hear

Pintara used to be the go to for 3.9's before there was a strong aftermarket scene.

I remember raiding pintara's and R31 skylines back in the VN days from the local wreckers when there were plenty around.

Not 100% but iirc 3.89 gears are noisey ones...all I know is my lc gtr got the gears with harmonic issues fml.

Ne & my cousin used to go Woy Woy tip to take b/w diff gears or diffs out of wrecks...ironically never had an issue except damn lc gtr diff conversion that I paid diff shop to supply & fit 3.89 gears

I just noticed the other day that the 3.45 gears out of my old VN had one edge of each tooth on the pinion relieved with a die grinder. That was a used set of gears that I had fitted by a local diff guy and those were not noisy at all, not even on overrun.
