So, I picked up my October built SSVR on Thursday morning and drove it 310km back home to Warrnambool. I was a bit spewing that it was raining when I picked it up, but I took a couple of annual leave days with the intention to do a full paint correction and detail, so no huge drama.
First impressions are that the interior doesn't feel quite as special as the outgoing CalaisV, but whoah the LS3 soon puts and end to those thoughts.
I optioned the blackout fender vents, upper and lower grill and drl surrounds, supplied in boxes so I could change them over at my leisure.
I have a few mods that will occur over the next couple of months;
Elite catch can
Twin horns from the series I
VCM OTR with tune - I have purchased EFI Live and will be getting some assistance to learn to tune.
Wideband O2 sensor
Twin Blackvue dash cams.

Now when I removed the wheels for the detail, it was confirmed straight away that they are not forged on this model, **** they are heavy.

And yes, in the last pic I am polishing the underside of the side spoilers, prior to Opti-Coat application

A couple of pics after the wash this morning. I have done just over 5,000k's since I picked it up in late November.
The Opti-Coat and Kamikaze Overcoat are both doing a great job so far.

I did the second oil change today at 7,595 km's. I used Penrite fully synthetic Dexos approved Enviro GF-5 5W-30.
I installed an Elite catch can at the first oil change which I did at about 1,200 km's and since then, the catch can has accumulated close to 60ml of oil.

I use the Penrite because it is Australian owned, a great product and meets the specifications for the engine.
I installed the catch can on the passenger side head, I had a friend make up some 15mm stainless spacers for me to step it off the head and clear the cables.

That's a neat instal with the clean side Pete, to be honest I didn't even know about that.
With your catch can though, it already has stainless gauze in the lid so no need to put the pot scrubber in there too.
