I'm the only one to quote a grind number so far.some great feed back here , exactly what im after. Thanks heaps for all the replies.
crane has a 230 and 234 cam # 888251 .
some one mentioned crane #888261 but has 234 and 238 . probably a bit over the top for cruising?
But that is smaller than the one you say.Or from crane:
My pick would be 888231
222/230 .542/.563 lift.
Not sure if 112lsa is too wide though.
Keep in mind your original goal. Tough mid range with good manners (and not ruining economy too much)
I'm not chasing straight line speed, its mostly a cruiser I want to be able to jump in and start it and drive it , so street manners . But of coarse I want it to be worth while all the effort for stroking, and have the power to drop skids when I ask it too.
My 355 has 'low compression' and a short cam. And it can hate tyres whenever I want. The only downside is it doesn't make power after about 6k.
Which is certainly not an issue given your outline.
Pick a good cam, but don't doubt yourself that it may be 'small'
