Help - rebuild door lock assembly

Can lock the drivers door from the inside, but not the outside. The key turns fine, but i think the rod may have dropped out, and there's a prick of a piece of metal in the way, like a bit of gal plate. There's one screw I can see holding it.. but I still can't get it out of the way to see / re attach the rod, or whatever has come away.

Any ideas. Cheers

Good luck with the lock,they are a over-engineered pain,Wreckers and Panel shops are the best place for help.

Found the culprit. a clip right at the back, where a hand just won't quite fit.
