Holden has had a dream debut with its VF Commodore-based Chevrolet SS in American NASCAR racing with a win in the season-opening race.

Kevin Harvick won the Sprint Unlimited all-star race at Daytona International Speedway this weekend.
Chevrolet dominated the race, despite losing two of its biggest stars Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon in the race's only crash, with Harvick leading 40 of the 75 laps and fellow Chevrolet driver Tony Stewart running strong all night.

Its no worse then the V8 supercar rubbish we've ended up with over here. At least in nascar their races still run decent distances, 3, 4 or 500 mile races, and they do it without having to share the car with other drivers. Id much prefer to see the cars we buy racing eachother, like back in the old days. Following your favorate make of vehicle actually meant something back then. You could go see a car that wasnt that much differert from the road going cars we had, beat all the the other makes. These V8 supercars are nothing like the road cars we buy except for the body shape.....

Gotta love nascar, you only need a fly to hit the windscreen at the wrong angle and the car will spin out of control

Under tyred, over powered cars with aerodynamics not much better than the average brick travelling at average speeds of around 200mph, V8 supercars will NEVER be able to do that.
