Gday everyone, just joined up so I thought I would show you all my Torry. I know it's not a commodore but you'll get over it

Well it was a 253 V8 and it had a trimatic. I threw a set of extractors onto it and have been putting around like that for about a year now. After getting bored of the migit V8 I thought it was time for a bit of an upgrade. Had been shopping around for a while until my mate told me that someone he worked with had a VH wagon with a 304 and a TH700 in it.. One look at it and it was mine, couldn't let that opportunity pass me bye.. Picked it up for an awesome price. The only thing it's missing is comp + lume..

Out with the old in with the new.. The 253 came out that weekend and I have started rubbing back the engine bay. I need to weld some sheet metal over the battery tray (coz its farked). Im putting an airbox there, and I need to weld a battery tray onto the other side. Theres a few other touch ups I need to do to the engine bay aswell. I did a bit of panel beating to get some dents out too.

Im giving myself 4 weeks to have the respray done. Im doing it all myself. Then Im going to rebuild the front end, and put all the shocks and springs in. Then the engine is getting a full rebuild with some goodies.

Ill try to update this if I can remember..

GO HERE FOR DETAILED INFORMATION

Cheers

Heres an update on my Torry. Been doing some welding..

The first thing I fixed was this crappy bit that looked like it had been attacked with tin snips. It should look good when Its ground down and smoothed over with some bog.

Heres a before pic..

After..

There was a hole like this on both sides of the torana. Who knows what it was for but now they are gone.. I cut them out into a more rectangular shape to make it easier to cut out a replacement part. Then went nuts with the MIG and grinder.. The MIG was jamming heaps thats why some of the welds look ****. After I fixed it they were a lot smoother and neater.

This is after some angle grinding..

I also did a bit of panel beating... The bit that looks attacked with a hammer was all bent intwards (towards the firewall) and was rounded.. Armed with a cold chisel and a hammer this is what it turned out like. I tried to match the other side as much as possible.. I think I did an allright job, looks a hell of a lot better than what it was like before.. The first pic is the good side.

Ill be attacking this a bit later in the week.

As you can see there was heaps of unwanted holes on the wheel arch. Most were from when the gas was connected up. I thought they looked **** so mig mig mig mig mig...

The mig didnt like the paint so off it came.

Just after I started to grind the welds down the angle grinder packed it in so I called it quits for the day...

Will update you again tomorrow night.
